Best way to migrate files and automatically update links

Hi, 

We have files that need to move from a network shared drive to SharePoint Online. It's about 450GB worth of data. The file structures break down into many folders and within these folders, there are excel documents with links to other excel documents.

Would the SharePoint migration tool be able to assist to copy these documents across and if we copy all documents at one go, would the links in the documents automatically update?

I think you'd get the initial pop-up when opening an excel to update the link, but would you need to physically go and update all the links or can it update automatically if you bring everything across?

If the links do break, is there a suggestion for a tool that will automatically update the links for you?
