Automated date column base on text of other column

I would like to date a column when another column is populate with a text value. So when I assign and individual to [Person Assigned] I would like to add "todays date" to [Date Assigned]

@qphawk There might be multiple ways to achieve this. Try below suggestions:

Using Power automate flow:

1. Create a simple power automate flow which will run on item creation/update (trigger can be as per your requirements).
2. Add "Update item" action in flow to update the Date Assigned column using expression: formatDateTime(utcNow(),'yyyy-MM-dd')

Using Power apps:

1. Customize list form using power apps.
2. In OnChange event of Person Assigned field, update the value of Date Assigned column using variables
