I have a SharePoint 2013 site and when you add a word document you get an error message saying "error checking document in" and the content type will switch to whatever the default is. This happens when you select any content type except the default. If you use just a basic document content type and add a document you will not get an error but the document will add with the default content type instead of the document content type. I have been working with Microsoft support for a few months but have not found a resolution. Does anybody know what could be causing this?
