Should the source parameter in the url work, for custiomizing the navigation behavior?

Hello,

we are trying to customize the Navigation behavior of SharePoint 2016. We had read several articles, which have described the opportunity to customize the Navigation behavior of the save and cancel Buttons by using the source Parameter in the URL.

However, currently without any success. Is this Option still available or must we change any setting to use this parameter?

Hi @Christian Hecht. That functionality is still there however only limited to the classic UI. If I put a link into my left hand navigation to my new form and provide a source parameter, then it will return to the desired location. My URL is formatted as below:

/sites/FormsDemo/Lists/Navigation/NewForm.aspx?source=/sites/FormsDemo

What is the behaviour that you're seeing? That it just returns the default list view?
