SharePoint 2016 on-prem throttling

Copper Contributor

We're using Dec 2017 CU SharePoint 2016 on-prem and Cognito Forms' SharePoint integration feature to push anonymous online forms to our SharePoint lists. Things are working great with one exception. When we submit multiple forms in rapid succession (more than 4 in a minute), the first 2-3 forms successfully push to SharePoint. However, the remaining submissions fail. Cognito is saying they're not seeing anything but "timeout" issues on their end.

We noticed there are throttling mechanisms for SharePoint Online, so are thinking maybe there's something similar happening on-prem. We think the process is using CSOM to push the data. We haven't been able to track down settings that will relax the thresholds - assuming that's the issue. We tried turning off HTTP throttling for the web app in SharePoint. But our understanding is that's more to do with GET vs. POST throttling. Also played with AppResourceTrackingSettings.Rules and adjusting ClientServiceRequestDuration, but didn't seem to have any affect.

The Cognito Forms service is fantastic, but we'd like to iron out this specific integration issue for reliable form processing.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

We are having this same issue, but with on-prem 2013 Foundations.  Did you ever figure this out?

Unfortunately, we're still experiencing this issue. Since you're seeing it too, I'll reopen my support ticket with Cognito to see if they might investigate further. Will you open a ticket too please to help gain traction on a resolution?

Yes, I will!

Response from Cognito support as of 3/6/2019:

"We have our developer looking into a possible solution to this issue, and we will keep you updated on this as we get closer to a release."
