Brass Contributor

When i try to migrate .mdb and .pl extensions files using ShareGate, Getting the following error.

Unable to copy your file. This file type is blocked by SharePoint due to security risks.

Is it possible to migrate these files types to SharePoint Online. Please  advise

Hi @Sajith G H

there is no more restrictions to types of files added to SharePoint Online

I understand that you are working on SharePoint onpremise. Which version?

Btw, you can configure FIle Extension blocked https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Types-of-files-that-cannot-be-added-to-a-list-or-library-30...

I am migrating from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online. ShareGate is unable to copy these file types.

Also not able to migrate .cnt,.chm files from On Premise SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online

Have you tried to upload thos file types manually to a SPO Doc. Library? As Federico said, there are not restrictions in regards of the file type in SPO

@Juan Carlos González Martín

The unblocked file  types – cnt,chm,pl,mdb,mcf,hpj are removed from the Central Admin of  On Premise SharePoint  Web Application. After that it worked.
