Bulk import userprofile SPO, jobs recurring?

After queuing an import job for userprofile updates using the bulk API from PowerShell/CSOM there is a new job generated once a day. The original job was queued with a call to  Office365Tenant.QueueImportProfileProperties and completes with errors (some identities not resolved in the tenant as they are not yet synced up). Is this the expected behavior whenever there are errors in the job?
