We have been trying to come up with a solution to reduce the automatic timeout for SharePoint online from 5 days down to one or two hours. We have come across some discussions around using JavaScript and applying it to the master page to achieve this. A SharePoint developer confirmed that it is possible but they were unwilling to help us because they didn't want to risk our site not being supported by Microsoft once we modified the master page. We are willing to accept the risk of a custom master page if it allows us to reduce the automatic timeout. Have any of you had success in reducing the default timeout for SharePoint online?
