Cannot Release Lock on SharePoint Online File

Hi

How can I get an xls hosted on SharePoint Online to pull data from a Analysis server cube hosted onPrem?

Looking at On-Premise Data Gateway but not sure if that will work? 

Something like this maybe possible? (Orange is existing infrastructure)

I think this might help. The Data Management Gateway can be used directly from Excel, so you might not need Azure SSAS. See scenario 2 under the PowerBI section of this article.
