I'm Merrilea from Brandon, MB. How can we customize the app to show what we'd like to highlight? The default view is "Activity" and I'd rather not show that to our clients...I'd prefer the "Lists" or "Home" page to be the default view.

Will from Washington DC. We would like to know how to customize the default view/screen. Activity is not useful for my team/purposes. Thanks!

Solution
Hi Merrilea and Wilmarie… a couple things. First, as you starting building modern team pages and modern communication sites, we will show the home page for that site in the app by default! Also, we are thinking about ways to allow for more customization, longer term. Thank!

Following up on this.... I am actually not sure how the default view is set up. Does it vary according to type of site created or if created in modern vs classic? I have one that goes to the Activity feed and one that goes to my designated home screen. I think the one that goes to the designated home screen is a communication site if I remember correctly. I have tried to do change the settings on the one that goes to the activity feed but have not been able to change it. :\

I am also looking to send the user to a specific page on our SP Online Tenant as they open the SP Online app for the first time.

So communication sites go to "home" and team to "recent"? What is the default view for each of these? Thanks in advance for clarifying this! :)

Not sure if I posted in the right place so here it goes again...

Do modern communication sites go to "home" and team sites to "recent"? Or, what is the default view for each of these? Thanks in advance for clarifying this!

Hi, As an intermediate workaround, until a default site option can be configured by each O365 tenant account within the SharePoint app, we added communication/hub site links to the global SharePoint Features links (left-hand menu when you click on Sharepoint (Activities page) within a desktop browser). Our users see these global featured links within the "Find" screen within the SharePoint app (Featured Links are located at the bottom within the app's "Find" screen). When a user selects one of the featured links that take them to the communication/hub site for their area that they have permissions to. From within the communication/hub sites, there are nav links to O365 group sites, SharePoint team sites, and lists of interest that our users can use to quickly navigate to using the app. We would be interested in the possibility of customizing the O365 user account used to login to the app to default to the current logged in user's individual O365 group site. Then we can train the user to customize their own navigation links based on their individual needs that they then could use to access their sites through the SharePoint app.
