For those of you not attending TechEd this year - I have compiled information about Terminal Services sessions AND how you can access some of them without being there.

1) Terminal Services sessions :

SVR408  Terminal Services Capacity Planning, Performance Monitoring and Windows Server Resource Manager

Monday, June 12 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM, 160 ABC

Speaker(s): Alex Balcanquall

This presentation focuses on proven techniques using Performance Monitor to identify capacity issues, performance planning, consolidation, scalability, and health checks for Terminal Services Environments. We provide the (25) foundational performance counters and supportability metrics to provide and allow authoritative determination if a server is healthy, in danger, or has exceeded a critical performance metric for disk subsystems, kernel memory, network interfaces, user mode processes, or processor(s) for the OS and its underlying hardware. This presentation has labs for student learning, and easy-to-use templates, specifications, and best practices to improve performance and stability of Terminal Servers systems and improve application responsiveness for users. This class is a subset of the Microsoft Vital Signs Workshop.

Thursday, June 15 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM, 205 ABC

Speaker(s): Bernhard Tritsch

Learn how to ensure that your applications run smoothly on a terminal server platform, optimize your applications and learn how to extend the functionality of your applications and Terminal Services. In the first part of this session, learn about the specific terminal server application requirements and how to avoid potentially incompatible coding. In the second part of the session, get expert guidance on how to use the Terminal Services API in your applications and in your administrative scripts. This includes the use of managed and unmanaged code, Win32 API information, how Virtual Channels can be used to develop additional Terminal Services functionality, and how to use C# and .NET to leverage Terminal Services functions not normally exposed to .NET. This session also includes sample code in C# for both the client and the server side.
