Today, we are announcing the availability of the iOS 9 extension for System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager SP1 environments that have CU1 installed and are configured with the Microsoft Intune connector. This extension adds support for iOS 9 devices. New features include: iOS 9 added to the supported platform list, configuration settings to manage and assess compliance on iOS 9 devices, company resource access on iOS 9 devices and ability to deploy applications to iOS 9 devices.

If you have System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager SP1, the iOS 9 Extension will appear as a new item in your Configuration Manager console in the Extensions for Microsoft Intune node. You will also be able to see other enabled extensions in this location.

To install the extension, select the iOS 9 Extension from the list and then click Enable. Once the installation is complete, you will see the iOS 9 option in the configuration settings, company resources and application rule creation wizards.  If CU1 is not installed in your environment, enabling the extension will fail.

For more information about installing extensions, see Planning to Use Extensions in Configuration Manager . Also, if you don’t yet have System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager SP1, download a free 180 day trial today.
