We are running a series of limited experiments with a set of retention label policies, scoped on at the ODFB and SharePoint Online sites only.
One of the tests was to set a retention label say 7 months and to share a link to this document. If the recipient then downloads the document then we want to preserve the original retention label.
What we are finding is that the document effectively has no retention label set when the users accesses the link and simply honours the default retention label of saved location, at the document library or folder level. I guess the question is how can I preserve the retention policy of these document and does it involved configuring outlook to handle this requirement.
