I'm trying to set up a PoC of Data Loss Prevention in Microsoft Purview using an M365 Developer tenant. As part of this, I am attempting to turn on device onboarding in the Compliance admin center under Settings > Device Onboarding.
However, when I click the button that says "Turn on device onboarding" and then click OK to confirm, I get a spinner on the OK button for about one minute, then a message saying "Failed to turn on the onboarding service, please retry later".
Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? I've opened a ticket with Microsoft Support but it's been ten days with no response.
