What's New in the Documentation Library for System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager, November 2013

Getting Started

Supported Configurations for Configuration Manager

-Updates include the following:

  • Updated the prerequisites for the SMS Provider. The computer that runs an instance of the SMS Provider requires the Windows ADK.
  • Updated to reflect support for Windows Server 2012 R2 with Configuration Manager 2012 SP1. With Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 with cumulative update 3, Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported for most site system roles, but is not supported for use as a site server or host to the SMS Provider. That is because these site system roles require the Windows ADK, and Windows Server 2012 R2 does not support the use of the Windows ADK that is used by Configuration Manager 2012 SP1
