Purchasing Viva Glint with WebDirect

For new Viva Glint Customers:

New customers can sign up via the Buy Now link: Microsoft Viva Glint | Employee Engagement. New customers can only pay with a credit card (annual contract, billed monthly) until they meet certain criteria, making them eligible for invoice pay set up.

When clicking the link above, the customer will be redirected to WebDirect and taken to a “Let’s get you started web page.” Here, they’ll enter their email address to see if they have an existing Microsoft account. The email address entered here needs to be the Microsoft tenant admin (your customer’s Microsoft relationship owner). This is likely someone within the customer’s IT or technical team who owns the company’s existing Microsoft relationship if there is one. Viva Glint customers and prospects should not create a new account if their organization already has an existing Microsoft account as this could affect their authentication.

If no account is identified, the customer will be asked to enter account details like company name and location. Then, a temporary Microsoft domain will be created to allow the tenant admin to sign into the Microsoft Admin Console.

Once the account is set up, the tenant admin will be asked to enter a quantity for the purchase. This should be the employee count for the organization. When buying via WebDirect, the customer agrees to an annual subscription with monthly billing. Currently, the only way to purchase on WebDirect for new customers is with a credit card.

If an existing account is identified, the tenant admin will be redirected to their existing Microsoft Admin Console upon log in. Here, they can purchase Viva Glint using the payment method available (credit card unless criteria have been met for invoice pay). Once Viva Glint is purchased, the tenant admin will be responsible for starting the Viva Glint provisioning and set up process.

For migrating customers (from LinkedIn Glint to Viva Glint):

Migrating customers will be receiving communications from Microsoft regarding the migration and next steps. A link will be provided in one of the emails, and customers will be redirected to WebDirect and taken to a “Let’s get you started web page.” Here, they’ll enter their email address to see if they have an existing Microsoft account. The email address entered here needs to be the Microsoft tenant admin (your customer’s Microsoft relationship owner). This is likely someone in the customer’s IT or technical team who owns the company’s existing Microsoft relationship if there is one. Glint customer contacts should not create a new account if their organization already has an existing Microsoft account as this could affect their authentication and technical migration.

Customers migrating from LinkedIn to Microsoft may also receive a promo code. This code will be automatically applied when the customer navigates to WebDirect from the email sent from Microsoft regarding the renewal. The customer could also enter the promo code manually if it is not automatically populated.

If your migrating customer is purchasing services from Viva Glint, they’ll need to go through the purchase process again with the services promo code after they’ve purchased the software. Since your customer is likely purchasing services from you as a partner, they may or may not have a service promo code.

If an existing account is identified, the tenant admin will be redirected to their existing Microsoft Admin Console upon log in. In this case, again, the promo code for migrating customers will be automatically applied.

Migrating customers should not activate their Viva Glint tenant in the Microsoft Admin Console until they are contacted by a Glint representative as this could affect their technical migration.

In summary, here are key items to remember for your migrating customer:

Existing customers without a Microsoft seller will receive an email from Microsoft giving them their promo code to purchase via WebDirect
If the customer already has a Microsoft relationship, they should identify their organization’s Microsoft tenant admin to assist them with renewing their Viva Glint contract in the Microsoft Admin Console.
Existing customers can renew their contract, but they should NOT use Viva Glint until their technical migration date or they risk losing their existing Glint data. If an existing Viva Glint customer doesn’t want to keep or migrate their existing data, they could start using Viva Glint before their migration date.
All Viva Glint subscription changes should be made in the MAC, all product changes are made in Glint.

Viva Glint has a vast item taxonomy and, before you begin designing any individual survey, it is first important to understand Glint’s research and methodology, as well as which topics/themes are most critical for your customer. Leverage the resources listed below as you make design recommendations and guide your customer through available options.

Viva Glint People Success Taxonomy (attachment): The Viva Glint People Success Taxonomy database contains questions and items that each measure a distinct employee experience and are available to help customers construct powerful and predictive surveys. All items and the survey constructs that contain them have been tested and validated by Viva Glint's People Science team. Please note that this document is CONFIDENTIAL and is not to be shared beyond partners under nondisclosure. Microsoft makes no warranties, express or implied.
Benchmark collateral (attachments): Benchmark collateral includes information on the composition of global, regional, country, and industry benchmarks. Please reference the General Information deck for an overview of benchmarks and methodology. Sharing these materials is restricted to customers and prospects qualified as "Proposed (50%) under NDA.
Viva Glint Core Metrics (attachment): These trends are not Glint benchmarks. Core metrics (eSat and Burnout Signal Rate) are generated on a representative, but less comprehensive, set of data. They are calculated as trailing average Glint scores and should be positioned as useful for understanding the general direction and magnitude of eSat Glint score over time. The slide deck should not be shared directly with customers in its entirety. Rather, slides should be copied over into other decks, assets, or communications as part of a broader conversation or context-setting effort.
Please note that, due to migrations from LinkedIn Glint to Viva Glint throughout FY25, these metrics will not be updated beyond June 2024. Currently there is no approved, compliant path to updating these metrics with Viva Glint customer data; as a result, they are indefinitely paused.

Viva Glint Support and Technical Resources

Technical Enablement:

Once you've completed the foundational enablement for implementation and adoption of Viva Glint you should consider reviewing the technical enablement path to help you develop a deeper understanding of some of the technical steps of Viva Glint setup and customer support.

Accessing your customer’s Glint tenant:

As a partner, you'll be a strategic advisor to a customer. Depending on the services you're providing the customer, you may or may not need access to the customer's Viva Glint tenant. If access is required, follow these steps get access to the customer's Viva Glint tenant:

Step1: An Azure Active Directory (AAD) tenant admin at the customer creates a member account in the customer AAD tenant for you, the partner.
Step 2: In Viva Glint, the customer adds you, the partner, to a Support user role. A support user would need a Company Admin role in order to access Advanced Configuration settings within the platform.

Filing a support ticket on behalf of the customer also requires a user to be a service admin in Microsoft Admin Center.

For technical support issues on Viva Glint: A ticket should be filed in the customer's Microsoft Admin Center. Filing a support ticket on behalf of the customer requires a user to be a tenant or service admin in Microsoft Admin Center. Support service admins will be available in the Microsoft Admin Center

If the customer files a support ticket through their Microsoft Admin Center, we recommend they copy their partner consultant as applicable to track additional needs.

Considerations for Selling Viva Glint and Related Services

Professional services are an important part of customer enablement and empowerment. As you build out your Viva Glint partner practice you may choose to offer a wide range of services depending on your specific competencies and areas of expertise.
An AAD record in the customer organization’s tenant is required for any external partner to access Viva Glint. If the customer or prospect is not open to adding external users as members, external partners may not be able to access the Viva Glint instance.
Viva Glint has a 50-seat purchase minimum. If your customer purchases fewer than 50 seats (has fewer than 50 employees), they will not be able to provision Viva Glint.

Is your customer an existing Microsoft customer?

Encourage your customer to identify and then reach out to the owner of their company’s Microsoft relationship. This person is also called the Microsoft tenant admin and manages your customer’s Microsoft Admin Center. The tenant admin likely has a relationship with a Microsoft seller (Account Executive or Employee Experience/Modern Work Specialist). The tenant admin is usually someone in the customer’s IT or technical team who owns the company’s existing Microsoft relationship.

If the customer is a Microsoft customer but does not have a relationship with a Microsoft seller, the customer is likely an unmanaged account. If they do have a relationship with a Microsoft seller, then they are most likely a managed account and have an Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft.

If your customer has an Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft, they are likely a managed Microsoft customer. In this case, your customer should work directly with their Microsoft seller to purchase Viva Glint.

If your customer does not have an Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft, they are likely an unmanaged Microsoft customer.

In this case, your customer will use WebDirect to purchase Viva Glint.

Executive Consultation Resources

An EC is a meeting with key executives/stakeholders that focuses on exploring key employee feedback insights that have emerged as a result of a Viva Glint survey. This is an important opportunity to amplify the feedback of employees, and help leaders to understand where their action, support and response is most required.

The Vision and Strategy (V&S) session(s), along with any other details and materials provided by customer stakeholders, serve as the primary input into program strategy decisions and the design of the customer’s various survey instruments.  Additionally, the V&S meeting helps you to understand what is top of mind for stakeholders in the organization and what kinds of insights they may be most interested in post-survey. These early discussions allow you to tell truly powerful stories during the Executive Consultation (EC) and focus on content that resonates most with your audience.

During a V&S session, you will also begin to understand what the ideal future-state looks like for how your client's organization collects and acts on employee feedback. This vision for the future helps you, and the stakeholders, understand ways in which the program may need to change or evolve to achieve the desired outcome.

Viva Glint Results Roll Out and Action Taking Resources

User Roles

Access to results is configurable for different levels of management within a customer's organization. The customer will choose which populations are granted access to the results, what attributes they can access, and the type of data they can review. User Roles commonly participating in Viva Glint programs include HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Managers, Executive Leaders, and Company Admins. These settings are configured within the User Roles.

Action Taking

When a new customer relationship starts, it's important to validate business and operational goals, align on expectations for the upcoming implementation and launch, and the relationship overall. Typically, the kickoff and success planning meetings include:

Get Enabled as a Viva Glint Partner

We have created three learning paths for Viva Glint partners which will enable you to provide end-to-end consulting support to clients.

We strongly encourage partners to complete all learning paths, however different consultants may complete the learning path most appropriate to their roles and expertise.

Please note that several learning modules appear in both the Implementation and Adoption, and People Science and Advisory learning paths. If you are completing both learning paths you only need to complete these modules once, after which they will appear in MS Learn as completed.

Viva Glint Implementation and Adoption Learning Path

In this learning path, you'll learn the foundations of Viva Glint so you can:

Gain introductory knowledge of Glint’s People Science methodology, a platform introduction, and typical customer journey to advise customer throughout the partnership.
Develop proficiency in implementation steps and program design best practices to guide a customer through their initial platform configuration and program design.
Develop proficiency in steps to guide a customer through survey setup, launch, and results rollout, including a foundational understanding of Glint reports.
Develop deeper understanding of technical steps of Viva Glint setup and customer support.

How to get access to your customer’s instance?

As a partner, you'll be a strategic advisor to a customer. Depending on the services you're providing to the customer, you may or may not need access to the customer's Viva Glint tenant. If access is required, follow these steps to get access to the customer's Viva Glint tenant:

Step1: An Entra ID tenant admin at the customer creates a member account in the customer Entra ID tenant for you, the partner.
Step 2: In Viva Glint, the customer adds you, the partner, to a Support user role. A support user would need a Company Admin role in order to access Advanced Configuration settings within the platform.

Filing a support ticket on behalf of the customer also requires a user to be a service admin in the Microsoft Admin Center.
