Personalized User Content in Viva Amplify Campaigns

We’re exploring the use of Microsoft Viva Amplify to send out daily newsletters or notifications to users across our organization.

Our goal is to make the content personalized for each user. we’ve noticed that Viva Amplify currently doesn’t seem to support inserting dynamic content that varies per users. Every user receives the same message in a campaign.

To address this, we’re considering whether it’s possible to embed a custom SPFx web part inside a Viva Amplify template. The SPFx web part would dynamically render content based on the current logged-in user’s metadata, allowing each user to see personalized information.

Questions:

Is there any supported or upcoming way to include custom SPFx solutions inside Viva Amplify campaign templates (similar to how we can in SharePoint pages)?
Or are there any built-in web parts or extensibility options that can help fetch and display personalized dynamic content for each user?
If not currently supported, is there any roadmap item or recommended workaround for delivering personalized dynamic communications using Viva Amplify?

Apply company branding to webparts in Outlook emails

Hi,

We are having issues with Outlook emails pulling through company branding from Viva Amplify.

We can customise the Outlook channel to edit the email output (i.e. changing the background colour of sections), but are struggling to change the colour theme for buttons - the buttons default to a blue theme and can't be changed.

I am aware that the Brand Center may soon be able to work with Viva Amplify Outlook emails. Will the Brand Center allow company colours to be applied to webparts such as buttons?

New Group-Less Campaigns

Viva Amplify - SharePoint Publications with Required Meta-data

When it comes to posting publications meant for one or more SharePoint sites, how does Amplify account for any required meta-data fields for those site libraries?

For instance, you may have SharePoint site with deployed content-types that require columns like 'Region' or 'Type' to be populated. These could be required on the site, and so direct authoring on the site ensures they are populated, but when pushed from Amplify it doesn't look like these are accounted for.

Viva Amplify adding users

Hi there.

We are testing the Viva C&C licensing in our org on a trial license for a month and it seems that we are not able to add any users to our Amplify campaigns unless they have SharePoint admin permissions. We would like to have some users be able to contribute to a campaign but not create it and we would like those users to not have SharePoint admin rights.

is there possibly some trick to setting up users for Amplify that we are missing? We have followed the Learn article but nothing seems to be working.

All users have a C&C license assigned to them.

Unable to post to subsites

We were previously publishing Amplify to a SharePoint subsite but it looks like Microsoft has recently taken this away. This subsite has existed for quite some time and has a ton of content. So, the idea of migrating to a new hubsite and the impact that could have on links, pictures, etc. makes me nervous. Has anyone else run into this or have a workaround for publishing to a subsite?

Was hoping to maybe publish to the main site and then move the site page down to the subsite, but it doesn't look like that is easy to do either.

Can't see some Teams

We have been testing Amplify for some time now. When publishing to a team we can see some of our teams but not all teams.

I have done some digging in the teams settings, Azure settings and I can't see anything different in the teams we can see and those we can't

Error when creating campaign

Currently we have issue with attempting to create Campaigns. There are a handful of users that receive the following error when attempting to create a campaign.

"An unexpected problem occurred. It's likely there is an error with your campaign name, alias, or member selection. Please go back and try re-entering those values to see if the problem resolves."

We have verified that the users attempting to create are licensed with the Microsoft Viva Employee Communities & Communications license.

Users are also set up as Campaign Managers. We also reverted the setting back to Everyone in your Organization can create campaigns, there is still an error.

All users are allowed to create M365 group.

Image Gallery webpart on roadmap?

When posting from Amplify to a SharePoint site, it would be nice if the image gallery webpart was available. I could understand the webpart not being available if outlook or teams was selected as it may not be supported across mail.

Is Image Gallery on the roadmap to be included?

Live and Draft Campaigns Not appearing in Amplify Camaigns

I am working with a client, training on amplify. As we create test campaigns, in the past week, none of the new campaigns are appearing in the Campaigns list for users. Only campaigns they create appear. Users can use the email link informing them they were invited to a campaign to reach the campaign, but it still won't appear in their list.

Viva Amplify Open Rates have dropped significantly - did something change?

In two different campaigns, for a total of 4 messages, starting 9/20 our open rates have dropped significantly for messages to the same audience. Previous open rates were around 50%, they are now showing 18% or less. Did something change with the way these are being reported or is something broken with the reports?

Viva Amplify Publishing Error in Outlook

Hello,

I am getting the following error message when trying to publish via Viva Amplify for Outlook.

'We have encountered an unexpected issue while publishing to one or more distribution channels. Select Retry to publish again'

The emails are all internal to our company and I have tried to individual and shared email addresses and get the same error, even when click Retry several times. Is anyone else having the same issue or know how to fix this error?

Unable to save new template in Amplify

As of today, I am no longer able to save any new templates within Viva Amplify, I can only edit current templates. The dropdown option to "Save as template" has disappeared.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Amplify stopped letting my the "from" field for the Outlook channel

Hello,

Has anyone come across an issue with the Outlook distribution where you can not change the “From” account? As of today, it won’t let me change that.

When I click “Other email address…” nothing happens. I have created a new communication, logged out, restarted my laptop, tried a different browser and it has not resolved. When someone else tries to edit, it says I am still editing even though my laptop wasn’t even on. Others in my organization have tried as well and it's doing the same thing for them.

Error: Teams Feedback doubled / Question: Amplify Integration into Newsfeeds

I am currently aiding a customer using Amplify in their environment. We have come across two questions/issues that I would like to share:

(Error) Doubled Feedback in Analytics:

For Teams posts, reactions seem to be doubled in analytics. For instance, a post will have 13 thumbs and 2 hearts - in analytics, this will read as 30 positive feedbacks. This seems to happen consistently across several Teams posts. Has anyone encountered this before?

(Question) Integrating Amplify content into SharePoint Newsflows

My customer is using SharePoint page details (such as "news type") to determine to which feeds a post will play out. Amplify does not allow altering site details when creating a SharePoint post. Thus, posts need to be edited after posting to ensture the flow is triggered.

Is there some way around this? Are there other way to solve this?

Appreciate any thoughts :).

Viva Amplify Campaigns - Visibility / Teams Approvals

Hello everyone,

with recent demos of Viva Amplify, I have run into two issues:

Campaign Visibility

Users can only see campaigns they themselves have created in their dashboard, no matter their role.

So Campaign 1, created by User A, will have User B as editor or approver. User B, however, sees only their own campaign, Campaign 2, in their Dashboard, but not Campaign 1. Using the campaign's URL, User B can view and edit Campaign 1 without issues. Direct navigation to the campaign's page from the dashboard, however, is not possible.

The issue is the same regardless the role and whether a user is an initial part of the campaign or added later. Both users are part of the M365 group and can navigate to the sites e.g. via the associated team sites.

Approvals

Approvals seem to generally be causing errors at the moment. If an approver does receive an approval, the approval does not contain an option to view details / jump to the element that the approver needs to review. Below is a full view of the approval request details - I am almost certain there was a link leading to Amplify page included in the approval request not two months ago.

I am thankful for any thoughts on this :).

Viva Amplify Issues

Hello!

I am currently doing a consulting project focused on the internal communications of a large corporation. Although Viva Amplify is a very interesting tool, the following issues prevent us from recommending the platform:

1. It does not allow audience targeting for SharePoint publications. This is a major issue.

2. It does not have a calendar of all the scheduled publications, with the channels and audiences of each one - it does not allow communicators to have a holistic view what is being communicated

3. It does not provide comprehensive analytical capabilities - it does not showcase the average time in each publication and it does not showcase the overal usage and engagement with the channels

Does anyone know of a way to solve this issues? Any extension?

Amplify Templates available across all campaigns

Hi everyone!
I created a template in a campaign - a template that I could use for other campaigns too.
Unfortunately, I realized that the template is only available in the very campaign in which I created it.

Is there a possibility to make that template available to all publications across every campaigns?

Or is there a quick way to copy the template in the targeted campaign?
