Alternatives to Viva Goals?

Viva Goals being retired wasn't good news. It put many of us in the community in a pretty tough spot. There is less than a year to find a new OKR software and migrate. We really liked Viva Goals because our team could use it inside Microsoft Teams. Some of the alternatives we are considering switching to are:

Teamflect
WorkBoard
Perdoo

All three of these have great Microsoft Teams integration and solid OKR features.

We are also considering other alternatives such as Profit Co and Lattice.

Any opinions on or experience with these tools?

Viva Goals Retirement

Hi, Microsoft just announce at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/goals/goals-retirement that Viva Goals ending in December 2025.

How do you feel about this announcement? It was one of the top business use cases with significant business value in Viva Suite after Viva Topics deprecation.

Possibility to adjust the automatic weekly summary?

We have just started to use Viva Goals in our organization and I am one of the admins.

We would like to adjust the automated weekly summary that is being sent out via mail.

Is that possible? And if yes, where do I find this setting?

The only setting I can see is under the "notifications" tab ("summary update rhythm")?

Creating A Performance Review with Power Automate leveraging Viva Goals

We are moving away from a HRMS that does performance management and want to use Viva Goals for all of our individual/team/organizational goals. Our organization still has a desire to do paid for performance structure requiring us to find a Performance Review process that we can use with Viva Goals data. Has anyone used Power Automate to create a review process leveraging the Viva Goals data?

Viva Goals not loading in Safari and Firefox Browser

Hi everyone,

we started using Viva Goals in our company and multiple people reported that viva goals is not working correctly in Safari and Firefox. Just the header is shown with en empty content.

It works fine in other browsers and within Teams.

I remember a few month back, when I tests Viva Goals it was still working.

Is this a known issue?

Users can't access Viva Goals

Hi- recently a number of our users suddenly can no longer access Viva Goals, either through Teams or web browser. On the browser, both a direct link to Viva Goals or going through the Office Portal gives them similar issues.

Here are a few error codes and screenshots from various affected users:

Confirming they all have licenses applied to their accounts on Admin Center and are in our one and only organization. I also don't see anyone on the user-led trials being affected by this.

+ we have Teams Admin Center granting access to Viva Goals org-wide.

Has anyone else experienced this or know how to solve?

I personally can't see a pattern to see what might be causing this...

Power BI Extract Viva Goals Data - Suggestion

It would be great if we could query Viva Goals data using Power BI. This would enable much more flexible reporting of our organization performance and would enable a consistent user experience for our users using other Power BI dashboards.

Organisation dependent on specific user

Hi,

following case:

I created an OKR Organisation. So I'm the "creater" and one of two "owner"s.

Unfortunately I had only a test license. This lead to deactivation of my Viva Goals access. In the meantime the whole OKR Organisation was not reachable, viewable, usable for anyone else.

Of course I now got a "normal" Viva Goals license. But we fear that in case of something happening to my account (many possible scenarios) may lead to the whole OKR-Organisation being non functional.

How can we prevent this? How can we make the OKR Organisation user-independent?

We miss in our Viva Goals Admin Portal the section "OKR Model Configuration", as it is written under bullet point 2 in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/goals/configure-okr-model

In the Admin Dashboard section, select the OKR Model Configuration tab.

I have a Viva Goals license assigned, as well as I have the Viva Goals Administrator Role and I am Owner of the Organization.

Viva Goals + Planner Integration - Planners don't show up.

Hello,
I am using Viva Goals to track our OKRs, we also use the planner integration to have better tracking.
But we have problems connecting viva goals to the planner. It's a little bit random: In the window where you chose your planner the ones I want don't show up. Some did in the past and vanished later. But I can see other planners as well, even new ones.

Some of my coworkers have the problems, others not. The permissions on teams, planner, and viva goals are all set to "Owner". On the ones that vanished from selection we didn't change anything. We also tried to remove someone from the team and then added again. Or a planner without a team and viva goals.

Does somebody has an idea how to fix it?

I'm not able access Viva Goals through Office.com it gives below error while accessing.

Note : Have Activated Viva Goals Trial Pack.

When trying to access within teams app or through goals.microsoft.com URL it is accessible.

Please suggest on this, what is causing this error.

Users are unable to add Initiatives or objectives

My Team members in Viva Goals are unable to create initiatives or objectives or key results. They can update them. I've went so far as to explicitly include users under Admin -> OKR Model Dashboard for initiatives (I don't want to have to do that). They still can't create any of the three objects. From what I've read if you are a member of a Team in Goals you should be able to create objectives, key results and initiatives.

What could be the problem?

Sharing with external users

It doesn't seem like Viva goals allows us to share data with external users. There doesn't even the ability to print off a dashboard (it is a mess when you print it from the browser.

It just seems like a common thing you might have to share at least the dashboard with external users. Nonprofit board review for example.

Wondering if it is just me missing something.

Viva Goals and Power Automate

I would like to create a flow in Power Automate to download the current list of some 924 OKRs in our 15 organisations and send it to PowerBI and trying to learn how to do it but "Viva Goals" appears nowhere in any Power Automate community search and "Power Automate" appears nowhere in any Viva Goals community search.

I'm clearly missing some fundamental knowledge, please help.
