PowerPoint: Edit with Copilot, Brand Kit and Image Gen: Overview + demo- March 2026 M365 Champions Community call

Hello Champions!

Here’s a recap and top Q+A from our March M365 Champions monthly call of 2026, featuring PowerPoint: Edit with Copilot, Brand Kit and Image Gen with Anubhav Nigam and Khaleel Amarshi from the PowerPoint product team.

We kicked off the call with two major community event announcements. First, the recap of SharePoint 25th Birthday Celebration on March 2, 2026—a free digital event highlighting SharePoint’s most defining innovations and offering a forward‑looking view into its AI‑driven future, with insights from Microsoft leaders. We also shared that the Microsoft 365 Community Conference returns April 21–23, 2026 in Orlando, where attendees can connect with Microsoft experts, explore hands‑on labs, and dive into the latest advancements across AI and Microsoft 365.

Anubhav and Khaleel led the main sessions with a deep dive into what’s new in PowerPoint with Copilot, highlighting how presentation creation and editing are becoming significantly more intelligent and intuitive. Formerly referred to as “Agent Mode,” Edit with Copilot uses natural language to plan, execute, review, and deliver complex presentation tasks—going far beyond simple text edits. Copilot can reason across an entire deck, restructure content, rewrite slides for clarity or time, and ground its output using work content, files, the web, and the current presentation, all while continuously self-correcting to better match user intent.

A major focus of the session was brand‑aware, on‑brand creation by default through the combined use of organizational templates and Copilot Brand Kits. Templates act as the primary source of truth, while Brand Kits enhance results by supplying logos, colors, fonts, imagery styles, layouts, and brand voice—helping Copilot generate slides that truly look like they were created by the organization. The product team also showcased advances in context‑aware image generation and AI‑powered image editing, enabling users to generate, refine, and polish visuals directly in PowerPoint without relying on external tools. Together, these updates position PowerPoint Copilot as a powerful creative partner that reduces effort while raising the quality and consistency of presentations.

Q+A from this month's session:

1. Our Brand Kits we created seems to disappear all the time (shared as Official corp brand kit as brand admin). Sometimes they return but now seem to have fully disappeared.

Answer: Can you please report this via feedback? We will track this. This should not be happening and possibly some bug we will definitely look into.

2.Are we going to discuss the recently announced changes to Copilot Chat (basic) access in M365?

Answer: We're gathering more information and will bring it to everyone as soon as we can! Edit with copilot is on web already. And soon rolling out to desktop app.

3. What model does edit with copilot use?

Answer: OpenAI; We have a model picker coming soon. You will be able to pick the model to use (OpenAI or Claude)

4. Do the templates be in a particular format for the agent to read them and replicate the company branding?

Answer: It is recommended for templates to have example brand slides and brand info that guides the system. More information in this doc Keep your presentation on-brand with Copilot - Microsoft Support. The templates will appear in the chat pane contextually for your selection

5. Can we use templates at all? We don't have brand templates

Answer: You can use it without templates as well.

6. This functionality will leverage on templates in SPO Brand?

Answer: It will leverage templates from OAL or brand kits in Create

7. Do Brand Kits enable creating a branded deck from the main Copilot Chat landing page, or should users use Copilot in the PPT app itself? How do Brand Kits play into this?

Answer: For now, it will be available via "Edit with Copilot" inside PowerPoint. We will eventually have it at other surfaces as well.

8. If an official Brand Kit is added to Copilot Create, will it be available for PowerPoint?

Answer: Yes, the brand kits from Create are leveraged in PowerPoint edit with Copilot

9. My company has many business units with distinct branding - can the feature handle that?

Answer: Yes, you can have multiple brand kits at company level

10. How can you apply and use brand templates that are not built / or does not use SharePoint Asset Libraries? We have specific brand guidelines but are unable to use the branded PPT template we have available with Copilot. Any guidance would be appreciated, thank you

Answer: Keep your presentation on-brand with Copilot - Microsoft Support Hope this article will help. The Edit with Copilot leverages templates from either Copilot Brand kits or from Organization Asset Library)

11. Can the team consider have "authorized users" to setup a Brand Kit. Like Marketing or Sales Department personnel?
Answer: You can define a group of brand managers who can only create and publish official brandkits. You can also define edit access for a shared brand kit. Create and manage official Brand kits in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app - Microsoft Support

12. If we update slides in the organizational template would the presentations that use those slides also update?

Answer: Yes, we use the latest template available in OAL or brandkit.

13. Does the Brand Kit capability access an existing Organizational Asset Library in SharePoint?

Answer: Yes, while setting up a brand kit, you can reference your assets in OAL.

14. The brand kit intermittently disappears and fails to open, and now it doesn’t appear at all.
Answer: Can you please report this via send feedback option on Create Copilot. Will help us get the necessary information to debug the issue.

15. Is the Brand Kit the same as the SharePoint Brand Centre?

Answer: Brand kits and brand center are different. Brand center allows you to add part of brand information for applying brand to SharePoint sites and Viva. Brand kits help provide richer information for your brand including brand guidelines, styles, color palettes, voice etc. Brand kits are used by Copilot for branded content creation (image generation, presentation generation, video generation).

16. The experience has been that Brand Kits/Creating PPTs from brand templates is really best done in https://m365.cloud.microsoft/create vs. the Copilot desktop app.. does that sound accurate?

Answer: You can setup brand kits both from web or Copilot desktop app. There should not be a difference

17. Is Agent Mode available in the GCC environment?

Answer: +2-2.5 months after GA, this is the typical rollout timeline.

18. Are there any plans to make Brand Kits accessible via an API (such as MS Graph)?

Answer: Can you please share the use case?

19. How does a creative person export a brand kit to someone who has access to OAL? Typically those aren't the same person.

Answer: Export to brand kit is not available, but you can refer OAL assets in brand kit. Would love to understand the requirement for exporting brand kit to OAL

20. Our users are asking for Copilot chat to leverage OAL templates, OAL images, official Brand Kits, without having to find the 'agent mode' buried under hidden settings in the apps. Is there a way to set the default templates, images, brand kits, etc. for Copilot chat so that when users simply use the main Copilot chat window to create a PPT deck, it defaults to a specific corporate template/kit?

Answer: Getting brand kits work with Copilot chat is on the roadmap. More details on - Edit with Copilot in PowerPoint (Frontier) - Microsoft Support

21. If we like someone else's slide themes, can we upload sample slide decks for the agent to learn from to build our slides in a similar theme?

Answer: Edit with Copilot treats the input template as source of styling, layouts, and formatting. So depending on your input PPT/templarte your output look and feel will change.

22. Do the Brand Kits work with the old Office Themes? And actual potx (not just pptx)?

Answer: You can add both to a brand kit

23. Who can create brand kits?
Answer: IT administrator has to grant you access as Brand Manager. You also require a Microsoft Copilot license. Anyone can create a personal kit, but official kits can only be created by brand managers which can be configured by an office policy configuration. 24. With Copilot in PowerPoint, will it recognize the PPT templates or does the brand kit work better for keeping layout, color and other details consistent?

Answer: Edit with Copilot leverages templates first, and enhances with brand kit for on-brand output.

26. Is this using Claude models?

Answer: Currently, it's using OpenAI; We have a model picker coming soon. You will be able to pick the model to use (OpenAI or Claude).

27. Will Edit with Copilot in PowerPoint be on by default for the user like Edit with Copilot in Excel and Word?

Answer: Yes, change coming soon. It will save you those multiple clicks to get to agent and be on by default.

28. Is the Brand Kit the same as the SharePoint Brand Centre?

Answer: No, these are two different things as of today. Brand center leverages your info for SharePoint branding but brand kits on Create help you created branded images and PowerPoints via Copilot.

29. Can you have multiple brand kits for different clients?

Answer: Yes, you can have multiple brand kits.

Here’s a recap and top Q+A from our February M365 Champions monthly call of 2026, featuring Word, Excel and PowerPoint Agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot with Alex Yang, Chelsea Fesik and Sangeeta Kulkarni of the Office AI product team.

We kicked off the call with two major community event announcements. Alex and Chelsea introduced the new Word, Excel, and PowerPoint agents coming to Microsoft 365 Copilot, explaining that they are designed to solve the “blank page” problem by turning natural‑language intent into finished, professional artifacts, not just drafts. They positioned these agents as task‑specific “thought partners” that help users move from conversation to completed documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, grounded in enterprise data and the web while respecting permissions. The agents ask clarifying questions when needed (such as audience, tone, or format) and support multi‑turn iteration so users can refine content conversationally rather than starting from scratch.

During his demo, Alex focused on the Excel (and PowerPoint) agent experience, showing how Copilot can create a fully built Excel workbook directly from a natural‑language request. In his demo, the Excel agent generated a multi‑tab spreadsheet complete with formulas, structured models, and sourced data, then seamlessly handed the file off to Excel for further refinement. He explained that the agent intelligently decides when to use enterprise data versus web research and highlighted the workflow distinction: using agents in Copilot chat for creation from scratch, then switching to in‑app agent mode for precise, iterative edits once the file exists.

Next, Chelsea demonstrated the Word agent, emphasizing long‑form, structured writing scenarios such as guides, reports, and proposals. Her demo showed how Word agent asks clarifying questions (like audience, tone, and theme), then generates a polished document that users can refine through conversation—adding sections, changing tone, or expanding details. She highlighted multi‑turn iteration, visible references, and how the agent acts as a thought partner that helps users move past the blank page while still keeping them in control of the final output.

Q+A from this month's session:

Can Word Agent use organizational templates?

Answer: Not fully today. Users can reference existing documents or templates and the agent will try to replicate them, but native support for organizational template libraries is still in progress.

Will Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Agents be available without Copilot Premium?

Answer: Rollout is currently prioritized for Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium customers, with broader availability planned after the initial rollout completes.

When will these agents be available worldwide (including Australia)?

Answer: Rollout started roughly two weeks before the call, with Microsoft aiming to saturate most worldwide tenants during March.

Will agents support corporate brand kits and branding guidelines?

Answer: This is planned but not fully supported yet. Agents can reuse referenced documents today, but formal brand kit and template integration is under active development.

Will these agents be embedded directly inside Word, Excel, and PowerPoint?

Answer: They are accessed via Copilot Chat and the Tools/Agents menu. Inside the apps, users interact through Agent Mode, which is the preferred in-app experience.

When is the best time to use these agents in Copilot app vs agent mode in Word/PPT/Excel?

Answer: The Word/Excel/PowerPoint Agents in the M365 Copilot app are best suited for creating new documents. When you have a document already created and want to iterate on your document with Copilot with the document open side-by-side, then Agent Mode is best-suited for that.

How do Word/Excel/PowerPoint Agents differ from Researcher Agent?

Answer: Researcher is optimized for deep, long-running research. App agents are optimized for creating polished, app-native documents with layouts, charts, and formatting.

How does Microsoft reduce hallucinations in generated content?

Answer: Newer models have significantly lower hallucination rates, and agents surface citations, flag missing data, and provide templates when data can’t be verified.

Are sources and citations included in generated documents?

Answer: Yes. Agents generate explicit source lists for facts and numbers, especially for Excel and research-heavy outputs.

What happens if the agent can’t find reliable data?

Answer: Instead of fabricating information, the agent will flag missing data or provide a structured template for the user to complete.

Are these agents user-created or personal agents?

Answer: No. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Researcher, and Analyst are first‑party Microsoft agents, not user-created agents.

What happens to agents when a user leaves the organization?

Answer: Agents remain available. Files created by the user follow standard OneDrive offboarding and governance processes.

Do these agents live in a user’s OneDrive or SharePoint?

Answer: No. The agents themselves do not live in user storage; only the generated documents do.

Why am I seeing “Frontier agent availability is restricted” errors?

Answer: This indicates the tenant is not enrolled in the Copilot Frontier program and the GA version has not yet rolled out to that tenant.

Do I need to enable Anthropic as an AI provider for these agents?

Answer: Anthropic enablement is required for Frontier access, but many users simply need to wait for GA rollout to their tenant.

Will the Frontier agent disappear once GA is available?

Answer: Yes. The Frontier version will be replaced by the general availability agent when rollout completes.

Will these agents appear in the Copilot Tools menu?

Answer: Yes. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Agents will appear alongside Researcher and Analyst in the Tools menu.

Is there any difference between accessing the agent from copilot for m365 app or within the app itself?

Answer: The agents in the M365 Copilot app and from within the app itself are similarly capable. The M365 Copilot app agents are tuned towards creating documents, whereas if you want to do lots of iterative work, we recommend using the Agent Modes inside of the apps.

Can Excel Agent generate full financial models?

Answer: Yes. Excel Agent can generate multi-sheet workbooks with formulas, projections, dashboards, and scenarios.

Can Word Agent pull from enterprise data like meetings and files?

Answer: Yes. Word Agent can pull from Microsoft Graph sources such as emails, chats, meetings, and documents—respecting permissions.

Can agents generate charts, graphs, and visuals?

Answer: Yes. Word and Excel agents generate charts and tables, and PowerPoint Agent generates slides with visuals.

Can users iterate on generated content after creation?

Answer: Yes. Users can continue refining content either in Copilot Chat or directly in the app using Agent Mode.

Can prompts and agent behavior be version-controlled in SharePoint?

Answer: This is not applicable because these agents are not user-created; they are global first‑party agents.

Are governance controls the same as other Microsoft 365 files?

Answer: Yes. Generated files follow the same sensitivity labels, permissions, and compliance controls as any other file.

Are Word/Excel/PowerPoint Agents the same as Copilot Studio agents?

Answer: No. Copilot Studio agents are custom and user-created, while Office app agents are first‑party Microsoft features.

We have a managed property "Sensitivity" applied to OneDrive and SharePoint. These labels include "Corporate, sensitive, confidential, etc.) to assign to documents and data. Does - or - can Copilot agents be made to respond to Managed Properties to not include specific content with its creations?

Answer: Yes, all of the agents support sensitivity labeling and Azure Information Protection.

Is it possible to limit the data source to our tenant's content or is it always assumed to look/use the web?

Answer: Select Work (at top) then go to Settings and turn off Web search.

So, what's the best way to describe the different between Analyst and Excel Agent, or Researcher and Word Agent?

Answer: The Word and Excel agents are scoped specifically to functionality within those applications. Researcher will use content from a variety of sources in your enterprise and is meant for deeper analysis.

I'm in a GCC Tenant, are these available in there now?

Answer: These are currently in the process of rolling out the agents to users in the Worldwide (non-GCC) environments. We will be rolling them out to GCC at a later date.

The game changer and what I am waiting for is actually calling the WXP agents from an agent flow so that it can create documents in a deterministic way. When will that be possible?

Answer: No timelines to share about this just yet, but this is something we also really want as well. ;)

Hello Champions, and Happy New Year!
Here’s a recap and top Q+A from our first monthly call of 2026, featuring Copilot Pages with the Copilot Pages & Microsoft Loop product team members Constance Gervais, Senior Product Manager and Oby Omu, Product Manager.

Constance introduced Copilot Pages as the next evolution after Copilot Chat—turning conversational output into flexible, collaborative canvases. Oby followed with a live demo showcasing how Copilot Pages simplify research, ideation, and content creation. She demonstrated starting with the Researcher agent, adding results into a page to further refine the research output, and then generating a PowerPoint from that page to quickly communicate key takeaways to colleagues — highlighting how Pages seamlessly move content into whichever M365 app best supports your next step. Her walkthrough also demonstrated real‑time editing with Copilot — including turning text into tables, shortening sections, and adjusting tone and formatting with Copilot shortcuts — as well as restoring previous page versions.

She showed how Pages are built for collaboration with capabilities like comments, content author identification, presence indicators, @mentions, and sharing — with particular emphasis on sharing a page as a component in M365 apps such as Teams to enable real‑time collaboration without leaving the app. Lastly, she previewed emerging capabilities for creating interactive UI experiences using code‑backed pages.

We wrapped with a live Q+A session featuring Constance, Oby and our colleague Patrick Gan, Principal Product Manager from Copilot Pages and Microsoft Loop product team, who helped answer attendees’ top questions.

1. Can Copilot Pages be shared with users who don’t have an M365 Copilot license?

Answer: Yes. Anyone with an M365 license can access and use Copilot Pages; only certain features (like Researcher) require the paid Copilot license.

2. Is a Copilot Page the same as a Power Page?

Answer: No. Copilot Pages are separate and built leveraging the Loop experience; they are not connected to Power Pages.

3. Why don’t I see the Researcher agent in my Copilot app?

Answer: Possible reasons include:

You don’t have an M365 Copilot license,
Your admin has disabled agents, or
The feature hasn’t rolled out to your tenant yet.

4. What’s the difference between free Copilot Chat and paid M365 Copilot?

Answer:
• Free Copilot Chat: Web only grounding.
• Paid M365 Copilot: Web + Work grounding, including files, emails, meetings, SharePoint/OneDrive content.

5. Do Copilot Pages have version history?

Answer: Yes. You can view and restore past versions of a page.

6. Does the post call Copilot experience require the meeting to be recorded?

Answer: Yes. Copilot depends on having a meeting recording available.

7. Can Copilot-generated PowerPoints use corporate branded templates?

Answer: Yes. You can apply company templates by starting from a branded deck or using Designer-supported templates.

8. Is Copilot Memory available for saving tone or communication preferences?

Answer: Yes. Copilot Memory can store preferred writing styles; custom Agents can also help maintain tone.

9. Are interactive UI pages available to everyone?

Answer: No. This feature is rolling out and currently only available in the Web tab for some users.

10. How do I reopen a Copilot Page after closing it?

Answer: Pages appear in the Copilot Library and in the Loop app (Recent Pages). Both access the same file.

11. Does free Copilot Chat ever access my organization’s data?

Answer: Not automatically. It only uses your data when you manually upload or attach a file.

12. Can admins control who creates agents?

Answer: Yes. Tenant admins can govern agent creation policies.

13. Does Outlook’s Agenda/Loop component behave the same as Loop in Teams?

Answer: No. Some experiences appear similar but function differently across apps, leading to user confusion. The product team is working on alignment.

14. Is it possible to export a Copilot Page to a SharePoint Page?

Answer: Not currently but can you say more of what you might want to do? We are always interested in learning new scenarios!

15. Can I automate tone or message style based on my manager’s patterns?

Answer: Yes. This can be done using Copilot Memory or by building a custom agent with your preferred tone instructions.

16. Can Copilot Pages be converted into Word or PowerPoint?

Answer: Yes. Pages can generate Word documents, PowerPoints, or PDFs from the Page tool bar menu.

17. Can I use Pages in Teams without leaving the chat?

Answer: Yes. Pages can be shared as components that update live inside Teams chat.

18. Do components update in real time for all collaborators?

Answer: Yes. Live presence and simultaneous edits are supported.

19. Can Pages be used without Loop Workspaces?

Answer: Yes. Even if your organization hasn’t enabled Workspaces, Pages still function and can be shared individually.

20. Can users without Loop or Pages access embedded components?

Answer: Yes, as long as they have M365 identity and access permissions.

21. Can I upload my own template for Copilot-generated presentations?

Answer: Yes — Copilot honors the template used when starting from an existing branded file.

22. Why can’t I see Pages in Teams?

Answer: You may need to access Copilot through the browser (“work/web” toggle) or your admin may have disabled features.

23. Can you embed a Copilot Page inside SharePoint?

Answer: Not natively today. You can share links/components, but not publish as a SharePoint page.

24. Is it possible to get list of prompts/steps done for the demo? As it be a big help to run something similar for our organization.

25. How can you organize Pages?

Answer: You can try and organize your pages with Copilot Notebooks. In the page header you'll find a "..." where you can Add to Notebook.

26. What would be the difference between app building in Copilot Pages vs App Builder Frontier agent ?

Answer: Copilot Pages can be used to visualize concepts, create interactive reports/dashboards, and even simple tools for team collaboration. Pages are files in Microsoft 365 and can be shared and managed as such. To create line of business applications for your entire tenant, App Builder is our recommended solution that provides additional governance and management as well as scalable data to meet your needs.

27. Can Copilot create a PowerPoint in your company's PowerPoint-branded template from Copilot pages?

Answer: Yes it can! If your company has connected branded templates.

28. Please advise if M365 copilot chat that comes with the M365 business premium license has direct access to your company data, there is confusion from staff when looking at your M365 copilot hub page where there is a copilot chat overview however I don't think they are the same thing, can you confirm that the M365 paid copilot chat and the M365 included copilot chat are the same and therefore has access to your company data -hopefully I am making sense

Answer: Business Premium users will see both Work and Web as options for Chat - meaning that they can query Copilot on items in their tenant. Customers who don't have the Copilot license but have access to Copilot Chat, and that chat is only based on the web.

29. It seems like copy/paste component is like Loop, is there a comparison somewhere?

Answer: Yes, Pages are very similar to Loop and can be shared like Loop components.

30. Does the call need to be recorded for the after call experience to be available with Copilot regarding the new feature announced on the call today?

Answer: Yes, the call needs to be recorded, or have transcription turned on, in order to use Copilot on the call itself.

31. When it creates a page is it loop and where does it save?

32. Is this page referring to Power Pages, or is it a separate page feature within Copilot?

Answer: This is a separate feature from power pages

33. Do pages or these components have version history ?

Answer: Yes, Pages have version history! View or restore previous versions of Microsoft 365 Copilot Pages

34. Where exactly do Copilot Pages and Copilot Notebooks live?

35. If a user leaves the organization, how can admins or managers access their Copilot Pages?
Answer: Pages follow the same governance pattern as OneDrive:

The SharePoint embedded container is lifecycle managed with the user account and is deleted when the user account is deleted from the organization.

You can't permanently reassign content to a new owner.
The container follows the same cleanup schedule as OneDrive: 30 days active, then soft deleted, and permanently purged 93 days after soft deletion.
Admins can recover the entire container (including all Copilot Pages and Copilot Notebooks) during the soft delete period using the SharePoint Admin Center or PowerShell.

37. Can retention policies be applied to Copilot Pages?
Answer: Yes.

Hello Champions! Here is a recap and top Q+A from our October monthly call. This month featured Pages in Teams Channels with Alice Zhang, Senior Product Manager with Microsoft Teams. Alice introduced and demonstrated the new Pages in Channels feature in Microsoft Teams, powered by Loop. This feature enables teams to collaborate directly within their channel context by adding Loop pages as tabs. This feature allows teams to work on shared content without leaving the context of their conversations.

Benefits include:

Centralized Access: Pin important documents or resources as tabs so team members can easily find them.
Real-Time Collaboration: Updates made to a page are instantly visible to everyone in the channel.
Contextual Workflows: Keep discussions and related content together, reducing time spent searching for files.

Alice highlighted key scenarios where Pages in Teams Channels can be helpful including the following:

Project Resources: Add a project proposal or research guide as a tab so new members can quickly get up to speed.
Recurring Information: Link frequently requested documents (e.g., “How to sign up for office hours”) to reduce repetitive questions.
Decision Tracking: Use pages to document evolving decisions (e.g., marketing plans) alongside ongoing channel discussions.

Alice showcased the feature via a demo of how to add an existing page, update content, sharing the page and more in our October call. She was then joined by her colleagues from Copilot Pages, Notebook and Microsoft Loop, Greg Howard, Principal PM Manager, Constance Gervais, Senior Product Manager and Alen Delic, Principal Engineering manager for our live Q+A where attendees asked us their top questions.

Q+A from this month's session

1. Q: As always, it is super confusing when there are so many entry points to do the same thing (seen with notes, lists, and other things as well). We now have Loop, Workspaces, Teams, Copilot Notes and now Pages. Our customers need -one- solution and stick to that instead of getting all these directions not knowing what is what. Can you create some clarity in all of the offered solutions?

A: Loop pages are a modern, collaboration-oriented canvas for all sorts of scenarios. You can embed them as components in Teams chats and channels (and emails, etc.), pin them as tabs (the channel pages we discussed today), and add them to workspaces when you need to organize a collection of pages. Meeting notes also use the pages format, and you can find all your pages no matter where they're created in the Loop app. We have some documentation that we're hoping will help make sense of this.

2. Q: Is Microsoft planning a fix for the issue where AI-generated meeting notes (Loop pages) are stored in the OneDrive of the first person who opens them, making them inaccessible to others who weren’t originally invited and causing access requests to be sent to that person? So far loop is always user-owned and thus not very great for our company-purpose.

A: We've heard this feedback and we're looking into ways we might be able to address it. Restricting access to the meeting notes is an important security and privacy feature for many organizations, but we appreciate that approval would be better asked of the meeting organizer, not "whoever clicked the button."

3. Q: What is the difference between a "Page" and a OneNote in a channel OR routing to a SharePoint file?

A: M365 offers a variety of formats and tools to meet diverse collaboration needs. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Pages as a format that can be flexibly embedded across a number of different scenarios (and within other authoring canvases) throughout the ecosystem. Because of this capability, Pages are great when you and your team need a single source of truth that meets colleagues wherever they choose to do their work and lets them contribute, comment, and coauthor without needing to context-switch to a different app.

4. Q: How are organizations approaching Microsoft 365 Copilot training and starting to build AI fluency? Looking for scalable solutions for 7k+ users.

A: Start with our Copilot Success Kit https://aka.ms/Copilot/SuccessKit - we have deep guidance on both technical readiness and user enablement/adoption.

5. Q: Is one weekly newsletter containing updates a possibility? I'm not an admin, I am a one person training department. If I could see all MS product updates in a weekly/monthly email, my life would be easier. Happy to sign up for that!

A: You could request reader access to Message Center from your tenant admin, but you can also watch Mondays at Microsoft https://aka.ms/MondaysatMicrosoft for quick updates from Karuana Gatimu and Heather Cook every two weeks.

6.Q: Can you add a workspace?

A: Correct, you can add Loop Workspaces to standard channels as a way to give your team more space to share and grow content across a number of pages and easily navigate between them without switching tabs. Loop Workspaces are not yet available in private or shared channels, but do let us know if that's important to your organization!

7. Q: Could using pages in channels reduce the need for a Sharepoint site or would they complement each other? We are a team of 30 and trying to streamline communications.

A: This is great feedback. I personally think they complement each other. Pages are canvas right there and editable in the channel where as the SharePoint site is a repository for all the files for the team. Some of the files in the SharePoint sites are Loop pages.

8. Q: Should we anticipate a convergence of Microsoft Loop and Microsoft OneNote?

A: Loop pages, including those you pin as channel pages, shine when your team needs to brainstorm, track progress and decisions, or maintain living lists/tables together—and especially when it's helpful to reuse that content across chats, emails, and meetings. You can also embed Loop pages as components in OneNote so collaborators see updates wherever they prefer to work. But we see Loop and OneNote as complementary options: OneNote continues to be great as a personal knowledge base, for taking notes with pen/ink, and more. OneNote can also now host our new Copilot Notebooks, which offer exciting new AI-first ways of working, including reasoning over your work and drafting content as Loop pages. But we're always eager to hear your feedback about how your organization prefers to collaborate and how you'd like to see these tools to work together.

9. Q: When will Pages in Channels be available to everyone?

A: We are currently in the process of rolling it out to everyone - it will be available very soon!

10. Q: You noted Pages are powered by Loop but how are they different from Loop? How do we educate end users on when to use which?

A: This is great feedback! Pages in Channel is the same experience as Loop component in Channels. They are they same file type. Pages are pinned to the top of the Channel unlike components which are in a thread. Loop pages pinned to a channel are easier find as they are always present in the tab at the top of the channel. The pages in channels can be sent as Loop component in thread or chats. As well as, Loop components in channel threads will now have the ability to be pinned too.

11. Q: I was struggling to understand when we would use the Pages as a Channel Tab vs. Workspaces. This makes perfect sense -- we have lots of Teams who use a Loop page for things like tracking in/out of office or planning upcoming team events.

A: You can start a new page as a channel tab (then embed it as a component in a chat or channel) or, vice versa: start with a component and then pin as a channel tab. These are both Loop pages (as are the pages you create in the Loop app) and all have the same capabilities. What to use when is really a question of how visible/durable you need the content to be for your team. (Caveat: there are a handful features that are available for pages in the Loop app in the browser and as a "personal app" on the Teams left-rail that aren't available within Teams as components or tabs. Let us know if these gaps are blocking key scenarios for you while we work to close them.)

12. Q: Is there a step by step guide for Teams Pages that we can refer to rather than a live demo?

13. Q: Users at my org want to be informed about upcoming changes or updates to products their team uses specifically. Is there a way to do this/automate this as opposed to looking at the roadmap?

A: If you have access to the Message Center in the admin center, you can sync to Tasks in Teams: Your team deserves a work platform they'll actually love

14. Q: Is there a plan to allow Pages to be moved to a new Workspace? We can add/link them to another workspace, but can't easily move them which is a barrier for our adoption of Channel workspaces. We have to manually copy/paste Page content into new Channel Workspaces, which is a pain point.

A: Thanks for the feedback! Yes, we don't yet support Move but this is a top customer ask which is top of mind.

15. Q: Where are the pages in Teams channels stored?

A: Pages created in Channels are stored in the Channels SharePoint Site. If you go to the "Shared" tab in the Channel, you'll find the pages in the Shared Documents folder.

16. Q: What happens when I submit feedback and recommendations in the app?

A: Feedback submitted through any app goes straight to the engineering teams that work on that particular app.

17. Q: Is support for querying Excel files in Copilot being improved?

A: Features are constantly being fine tuned, especially the Copilot ones. Please be sure to always click the thumbs up or down in every prompt response - that lets the engineering teams know what your feedback is.

18. Q: When can we expect to see voice conversation capabilities for M365 Copilot?

A: Great question. We don't have any dates to share on this yet but we'll share when we know more.

19 Q: Do Loop/Channel pages meet accessibility requirements?

A: Yes, pages in Channels will meet the accessibility standard promised by Microsoft.

20. Q: Where are the files stored in a Loop app pinned to a channel?

A: Pages created in Channels are stored in the Channels SharePoint Site. If you go to the "Shared" tab, you'll find the pages in the Shared Documents folder.

21. Q: Can we still use Pages in Teams if we do not have Loop Workspaces enabled?

A: Great question, as long as you have Loop enabled for your tenant, you can use Pages in Channels. It's not necessary to have Workspaces enabled.

22. Q: I've noticed when I @mention anyone in Loop, it takes a really long time (a few seconds) to load suggested contacts--this has been putting a wrench in my flow--what is the best avenue (as an end user) to report this problem?

A: Thank you for the feedback! Yes, we have noticed this slowness as well and are working on understanding the problem to fix it.

23. Q: How did she(Alice) paste the URL into the word "here" without hitting edit link?

A: A: You just highlight the word you want to hyperlink and directly click CTRL-V or paste link! This shortcut works not only with Teams, but also a lot of other apps. Now you know!

24. Q: Remind me how I can get the deck with the links embedded, thanks a million!

A: The recording will be published on the Driving Adoption community on the Tech Community in about 48 hours after this call. 25. Q: We have seen the Collaborative Chat Notes coming now to 1to1 and group chats (also powered by loop components) but were not able to find out where this Note page is stored. It seems it's not a loop page. Can you explain a bit more pls?

A: Chat notes are powered by Loop. Access to these notes is linked to your chat membership, ensuring that only chat participants can view or edit them. The notes are securely stored in a container that is associated with the chat, keeping everything organized and protected.

26. Q: So in case a person is leaving the company, this notes will not get deleted, as the users personal OneDrive stuff would do?

A: Correct, Chat Notes are stored in tenant-level storage. Channel Pages are stored in the SharePoint associated with the channel. Components users create in Teams chats are stored in their OneDrive, like other files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) dragged into chats to share them.

27. Q: Can you link Loop workspaces (not just pages)?

A: In standard Channels, you can add the Loop app where you'll be able to create a Loop workspace which has the same membership as the channel. To learn more: Collaborate in real time with workspaces in Teams

28. Q: Where can we find more information for Pages on Channels? Is there a link for it?

29. Q: I have created a Loop Channel workspace + pages and it worked great. Q1 - Where are the files stored? I'm not seeing them in my Teams files for the relevant channel. Q2 - Can you confirm if/how we can transfer ownership of a Channel workspace/page, if the original owner no longer is a member of the Channel?

A: Loop Workspaces use SharePoint Embedded for storage. It sounds like you expected those pages in your channel's SharePoint instead? (Good feedback, thanks.) The workspace and its pages are associated with the lifecycle of the channel itself. The original owner departing the company should not affects the channel's workspace or its pages.

30. Q: For admin purposes are loop pages stored in the SharePoint site for the team or elsewhere?

A: Pages created in Channels are stored in the Channels SharePoint Site. If you go to the "Shared" tab in the Channel, you'll find the pages in the Shared Documents folder. If the page was created elsewhere and is linked to channel. It is stored in the original location.

31. Q: What does MOCA stand for again please?

32. Q: Is there a default retention for the pages?

A: Since pages are persisted in Sharepoint, retention policies follow that of Sharepoint: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/retention-policies-sharepoint

33. Q: If I use M365 Copilot Research and add results to a page, can that page be added to a teams channel?

A: Yes! The page you create in M365 Copilot and Researcher can be added as a page to the Teams Channel.

What's changing

We’re excited to share an important update about the future of Microsoft 365 Learning Pathways: starting December 1, 2025, Learning Pathways will transition to a fully community-supported tool.

The Microsoft 365 community will be taking over responsibility for content maintenance and updates.
The community will manage the technical solution and organizational support effort.
A new architecture spearheaded by MVP member, Derek Cash-Peterson, will allow for direct publishing of further content into the solution outside of the Microsoft content.

These changes will allow the community to respond to requests for additional content in a timelier manner while providing greater options to keep content fresh. Content will be vetted and quality checked by a volunteer group of talented MVPs in the same model as many other community solutions are managed today.

Hello Champions! Hope you've enjoyed your summer (winter for our Southern Hemisphere friends!) break so far. Here is a recap and top Q+A from our September monthly call. We had two guests, Karuana Gatimu, Director of the Microsoft Customer Advocacy Group for AI and Collaboration, and James Tyer, Senior Program Manager with Viva Engage, this month.

Karuana presented a comprehensive overview of the September 18th announcement: Microsoft 365 Copilot: Enabling human-agent teams. She highlighted the new Copilot agents (including the Facilitator, Channel, Project Management, and Knowledge Agents) and agentic workflows. She showcased interactive demos that help Change managers and Champions train and educate users with step-by-step simulations. In addition, Karuana shared her excitement over the new audio recaps feature with Copilot in Microsoft Teams that allows you to listen to meeting summaries at your desk or while walking, available in multiple styles.

Next, James dived into how to use Viva Engage to drive Copilot adoption through community engagement. He shared that Viva Engage is public by default, fostering open sharing and collaboration, and is ideal for change management and community building. He showcased the Copilot Adoption Community Template: a prebuilt Viva Engage community template available to all Microsoft 365 license holders (E3, E5, SMB).

A: Yes, a new Best Practices Architecture Guide is in development and will be released before or shortly after Microsoft Ignite.

2. Q: Should I replatform from Teams channels to Viva Engage for Copilot adoption?

A: Replatforming to Viva Engage is recommended for better automation, scalable engagement, and AI-powered features like automatic Q&A and verified answers. In addition, you may choose to pair Viva Engage with a SharePoint site for content hosting. We also recommend using campaigns like Getting Stuff Done to make the transition engaging and purposeful.

2. Q: Can Copilot updates be rolled out more incrementally to avoid overwhelming users?

A: Due to the fast-paced nature of AI development across the industry, updates are released at "AI clock speed". However, Champions are encouraged to curate updates monthly and filter them by role to help users manage change effectively or in stages to most effectively digest updates at your users' speed.

3. Q: How can new users be added to Viva Engage communities more efficiently?

A: James recommended using dynamic groups via Entra or HR data connectors. The Copilot adoption community supports auto-adding users with M365 Copilot licenses. In addition, PowerShell can also be used for bulk onboarding.

4. Q: Will video content be added to the Copilot adoption community in Viva Engage?

A: Yes, short videos are planned, including "Getting Started" guides and microlearning content.

5. Q: What license is required for Audio Recap in Teams?

A: Audio Recap is tied to the Microsoft 365 Copilot license, not Teams Premium.

6. Q: How do I manage diverse learning styles and cultural nuances in Copilot adoption?

A: We recommend using microlearning, short videos, and informal content. We encourage user-generated sharing and recommend focus on engagement and accessibility across different formats.

7. Q: Is it possible to apply the Copilot adoption community template to an existing Engage space?

A: Yes, the template can be applied to pre-existing communities to gain additional features.

8. Q: How do I access Audio Recap for meetings?

Next, you'll want to ensure you get the badge for completing our Microsoft 365 Copilot User Enablement course (MS-4007) which represents our refactored materials for the era of AI.  This introductory course is complementary to any formal Prosci TM or college courses you may have taken. My team and I are continuing to work on more content, both in our formal courses and through this video series.  All of this compliments the updated User Enablement resources we've included in our Copilot Success Kit and it is important to note that the best practices contained in that guide and in my recent online session which was a part of the Copilot Control System deep dive are applicable to much more than Copilot services. They extend to Microsoft 365 core capabilities as well.
