Distributed content moving or disappearing- Class Notebook

Hello, we have several teachers who are distributing content to students and some of the class will have issues. This is happening across the district with various teachers. The teachers make the document part of the background, but when students click on it, it disappears or moves the cursor to the far bottom of the page, etc. This is happening enough where some teachers are using other resources other than Class Notebook. Anyone else seen this? I thought maybe an extension on the student Chromebooks or network connectivity during the sync? Any other ideas?

I have had a request from a member of staff who has a Microsoft Teams 'class' site with a Class Notebook setup that her students used in the previous academic year) who now wants to share the same Classnote to a different Teams site (within the same university and school).

From what I can see online this is not possible, I can connect to the same Class Notebook within the same Team site but in a different channel but not between two different Team sites.

Is this right or am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is that the approved for our country distributor does not understand the importation and taxation specific, and also refuses to take responsibility in case of delivery delay, etc. Generally, the correspondence with the distributor forces us to doubt the decency of a given organization. The conditions of payment - 100% prepayment, the amount of the contract exceeds 1 mln USD (country order). So we are quite confused and would like to receive the approval that the distributor was indeed verified by Microsoft; that all those colleagues from Microsoft in our communication are real 🙂 and all this story is just the lack of professionalism from the distributor's side. Sharing a page in onenote

When I share a page from onenote, why do the receiver see all my other sections of my notebook ? I want the receiver to see only the page I share. It is possible using my iphone.

Member in class notebook is unable to see sections/pages that have been distributed to them

Hi all, we have this one student within a team on class notebook that doesn’t seem to see any of the pages distributed to him. We have tried to use the browser and the teams app but no luck. Even tried removing and re-adding the student but still nothing. Any ideas on what to try next? Only seems to be this one team for this one particular student.

Specifying coloured sections / tabs when setting up Class Notebooks

Good morning,

We would love the following to be introduced please if possible: being able to specify the colour of each section for pupils when setting up Class Notebooks (not having to change these individually.)

We use a different coloured exercise book for each subject, so it would be great to be able to specify that all English sections for the pupils would be (e.g. blue) when setting up the Class Notebook for the first time.

Distributed pages now become subpages?

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a fix in the works?

Every time I Distribute a page to my students, regardless of the destination in their notebooks, the distributed page always becomes a subpage of an existing page in that 'folder'.

Option to "lock out" Distributed pages during assessment?

Is there any way to "lock out" students from making further edits to their distributed pages during assessment?

At the moment, students can wait to complete work, ask those whose work has already been assessed, and edit their work before my assessment is complete, effectively nullifying a due date/deadline.

Page deletion and recovery managment

Hi,

I see that in the collaboration spaces anyone from the collaboration group can delete a page and make it unrecoverable for the rest of the team. Is there any way to prevent that? Is there any way to prevent students deleting pages or at least to be able for the Teacher to recover them?

Looks like it is not possible at the moment, so might be a good feature to implement.

Is it possible to make student notebooks visible to other students?

In Class Notebook, I know the default is set to "private" for student notebooks so that only the teacher can view them, but is it possible for teachers to remove that setting so that students can view each other's work?

I am using Class Notebook as part of an online teacher training and want participants to be able to view each other's work. Thanks!

Re-creating Student Class Notebook sections

Hi all,

So, a while back I deleted some student sections from a Teams based Class Notebook as I didn't think they'd need access to it. Now I'm not sure how to re-add them into the Class Notebook with the sharing permissions that come with a Private Student-Tutor section. The Recycle Bin was emptied at some point.

Any tips welcome.

Sharing Teams Class Notebook over multiple teams

I would like to use a single OneNote, ClassNote or Teams ClassNotebook over multiple teams (classes). Does anyone know if this is possible. At the moment I am having to have all students studying a single subject in the same team to enable them to access the detailed Notebook I have created.

Restoring deleted Class Notebook Pages and Sections

According to Microsoft guidance, deleted pages can be restored from the authors OneDrive: Recover deleted Class Notebook files from the OneDrive Recycle bin - Office Support (microsoft.com).

In our experience, this does not work, the deleted pages do not go into either the teacher or the students OneDrive and there is nothing in the OneNote/Notebook recycle bin. By default History is turned off on Class Notebooks and even when manually enabled, it does not track pages or sections deleted by students in the web client. Deleted content disappears into a blackhole.

This seems to be worsened by the fact that a Class Notebook is a consolidation of content from several places. Some content is in the underlying Teams SharePoint stored in Site Contents, other content is in Site Assets and the actual students work hidden in their OneDrive!? This makes impossible to restore from backup (unless anyone on here knows a way). We have Barracuda Cloud-Cloud backup for our MS365 but there is no way it can cope with restoring this.

Why on earth Microsoft see this as acceptable is beyond me? All the content needs to be in one place so that elements or the whole thing can be easily restored. There is a user voice around this. We are a "Google District" but we have many Microsoft 365 elements we may use, including Class Notebooks.

Some learners have complained that when they click on the link I have given them they are logged in as a Guest Contributor with no access to their tab.

Where can I find THE link that will give them access to their Class Notebook? Or do I need to Fix Permissions?
