HPC precheck error

Hi All,

We are going to install a windows 2019 single head node, but when precheck it show" Check if the account running setup is a domain account", and next it can't connect SQL server with windows authentication, all computer and account are domain account, I don't know what policy cause this warning.

HPC run MPI Service on different segment

Hi All,

My environment, Head Node HA and Compute Nodes, some compute nodes are in different network segments but only have one network adapter and ip. When running sonme MPI jobs or diagnostic tests for MPI will fail on differnet segment of computer nodes , but it is successful to test on in the same network segment, without a firewall.

So will MPI use broadcast , so Compute Nodes in different network segments will fail?

I would like to inquire about the High availability feature built-in HPC 2019,
Can jobs be assigned by two Head nodes simultaneously or only one Head node?

If there is only one, how can we know which one it is?

HPC databases service broker requirements

Hello,

Working as an OPS engineer on our off the shelf application which also uses HPC. Our security team found that service broker is enabled on all HPC databases. I've looked into it and to me it doesn't seem to need this service to be enabled. There are no queues, services, messages etc. setup except for the system provided stuff.

Is it required for HPC to have service broker enabled on the databases?

This node did not return diagnostics results. Possible reasons are: there was a network issue, or the files that are required for running the diagnostic test are not available on the node. If this is a custom diagnostic test that you added to the cluster, you need to verify that you have copied to all the nodes the files that are required for running the diagnostic test, especially to any new nodes that have joined the cluster.

Setting up own HPC in Azure cloud

Hi All,

We recently moved many of our applications and databases to Azure Cloud. Some of the applications needs high computation power as these perform various types of mathematical simulations as part of insurance liability management.

We would like to set up and use Azure Cloud HPC instead of a third party tool. Based on the information on internet I got the impression that we can use Azure native services like Azure Batch or / and CycleCloud and perhaps other components to build a HPC. Does MS offer a ready HPC tool that scales up and down nodes as per client needs?

If not, any clear guidance on how we can set up such a tool?

For clarity, we want to use this tool for different applications, some of them are home-brew (C#) and others are vendor tools.
