Person to Person Query Results reduced

Hello,

I have been using the Person to Person query in MS Viva Insights to look at collaboration patterns. I would run the query for a 6 month period, export the csv file and analyse the results in R studio. However, in February 25 I noticed the results set was returning fewer rows and now in March I can run the query with no selection made other than a date range and the files empty. The feedback internally is that there has been no change and other exports such as the Wellbeing and Manager effectiveness return files with 100k plus of rows, but the Person to Person query is no longer working as expected.

Power Point templates to highlight key findings from Advanced Insights Queries

I used to leverage workplace analytics PowerPoint presentation templates to present the key findings of my queries in an easily consumable format (e.g., Ways of Working Assessment and Meeting Effectiveness). However, since the rebranding, I can't find any templates. Does anyone know where to find it?

How to verify Viva Insights ( Advanced Insights )

What is the best way to validate Viva Insights ( Advanced Insights ) free of charge?
A validation period of 1 to 3 months is sufficient.

Please let us know if you have found any way to validate the effectiveness of the product at no cost.

Custom Timings Copilot Impact report

In the Copilot Impact Power BI template, there's a timings calculation where every action in Copilot gives 6 minutes of time savings.

This can be much more granular but as a step, I've created this custom report where you at least can set the timings settings per area (Teams, Meetings, Email etc).

Non Integer Meeting Counts for Custom Query

Hi Viva Insights Community,

We've built a custom query, the query is designed to identify meetings held on Friday afternoons. We’ve been running this query weekly, but when analyzing the results, we noticed that the number of meetings for some individuals on a given Friday is being reported with decimal values (e.g., 1.3333 or 0.666667).

Does anyone know why this happens? Could it be related to how the data is aggregated or a query setup issue?

Available-to-focus and uninterrupted hours seem high?

Hello community,

I'm working with the leadership group for one of our business units, and I'm pulling together a few metrics for them to view a snapshot of the current state of collaboration load and benchmarking it against a few other similar business units. I ran a Person Query and included several metrics, including Available-to-focus and Uninterrupted Hours.

However, while reviewing the results, the numbers on a per-week level seem awfully high, especially considering that these are senior (i.e. VP, SVP) leaders, which got me wondering what exactly the logic is of what's counted in these metrics. See screenshot for an example:

In essence, I want to confirm:

Are these metrics taking time zone differences into account?
Is it possible some collaboration, such as chats or emails from Power Automate, is artificially inflating the collaboration time?
How do I best troubleshoot to understand which values are to be expected here? I even looked across all business unit senior leadership and explored the values to get a sense of the range, and I got a mean of 37.63 available-to-focus hours and a median of 41.50 (st. dev. 17.19), which I also feel is too high. That's almost 8 hours per working day?

Viva Insights Schedule Send Not Showing

Hi Team

I'm trying to run the new Explore the impact of change Template from Viva and this is the error I'm getting " This attribute has to many values. The report support about 100 values from an attribute"

All our attributes have more than 10000 values and we are interested to see the change and explorer this template but now we have a limitation.

Way to view top External Collaborator's email domains?

Hi Community,

Long time no post! I'm on the new Viva Insights platform and have been diving more deeply into the capabilities recently.

I seem to recall a page somewhere on the old Workplace Analytics platform that seemed to be centered around a Sales use case where it showed the top external domains with which our employees collaborated.

Is there an equivalent on the new platform where I could see the top external domains outside the company? I've tried a person to group query where I've added email domain as an attribute; however, this attribute must be coming from our org data file because every record that came back appears to be internal to the company. I do see that we have External Collaboration metrics for a Person query, but I don't think this shows me domains.

Any ideas?!

We see a bug on the report when looking at collaboration and connectivity belonging.
Break down to groups the wording its four hours but the measure its > 2 hours not sure if anyone saw that.

Bad results - Ways of working

Hi team

I've just recently saw an specific case with one of our clients that has some issues creating the WoW report and I hope you can help us to identify if this is a problem that came after the April 2024 update.

As you can see the working hours are being showed like thousands and in some cases even the slide appears to have an error. We even regenerate a previous report (march) that was ok a month ago and right now it also broken.

Meeting Query Metric Questions

Hi, I have a couple of questions:

1. For the meeting query metric "Number of attendees multitasking" is there a threshold of minimum emails and/or chats sent for a person to be counted as multitasking, or do they just have to send one chat/email? Do the chats sent in the meeting chat of the meeting being measured count as multitasking?

2. Similarly, for meeting query metric "Number of chats send during the meeting" does Viva Insights count the chats that were sent in the meeting chat of the meeting being measured?

Viva Advanced insights Power BI report

Hi, I managed to access the Advanced Insights for the demo tenant on CDX. If I open any of the Power BI reports, like onboarding, once I log in with the demo user, the report would not refresh and the visualizations are empty.

Advanced Insights allows you to use Azure AD as the default data source.

Glint admin forces you to upload a file with your own org structure in order to get started.

How are the 2 compatible if a company is using both products i.e. there could be different fields in both and some companies don't want the hassle of uploading a file manually to get started.

VIVA Insights Python - How to use my organizations data as opposed to the demo file

Confirm my understanding of Collaboration Exclusions Metric Rule, and edit this rule

Hi,

From my understanding of the Collaboration Exclusions Metric rule (which Microsoft is the author), a meeting is NOT counted as collaboration, if no one has joined on Teams. Does this mean

1. If a meeting doesn't have a teams invite (is completely face to face), it is NOT captured as a collaborative meeting?

2. If a meeting has a teams invite, but everyone attending the meeting is present in person and hence no one logs into Teams for this meeting, this is NOT captured as a collaborative meeting?

We see number 2 happening more and more frequently, and I am concerned we are undercounting our meeting hours.

Appreciate if Microsoft can confirm this, and provide a fix if this is the case? I seem to be unable to edit the Metric rule to remove this requirement. Thank you.

Measuring meetings as attended

Hi All, If an individual schedules a meeting in Teams with a colleague, they both accept, but then they meet physically and dont join the meeting is this still considered as attended in the Viva Insights dashboard reports?
