Windows Search Indexer consuming large amounts of memory

New Contributor

Since last Friday 10/22/21, the windows search indexer process has been consuming large amounts of memory while the CPU and disk remain relatively idle. I've restarted the service, reduced the indexing locations, and even applied a recent windows update (meaning my computer rebooted too) to no avail. It's consuming between 7-9GB of RAM while the service is active. I can't find anywhere on the internet that refers to this service using large amounts of RAM, at least without the CPU or disk also showing heavy utilization. My search seems to be functioning normal, or at least i havnt noticed any issues with it.

Anyone else seeing this?
