So, since upgrading a few days ago, I have a couple (persistent) taskbar bugs plus a few suggestions for the taskbar in Windows 11. I'm on version 21H2 of Windows 11 Home. (Also wait a minute... How did my Win 10 Pro license upgrade to Win 11 Home? That's weird...)

  • Bug: On my main monitor (4K 200%), the taskbar works fine, but on my second monitor when it's at a different DPI/scaling (1080p 100%), the taskbar gets all weird and glitchy. It renders at double-height with a weird blank space at the bottom, and frequently refuses to show when I move my cursor to the bottom of the screen.
  • Bug: Start menu doesn't shift over to the left when you set taskbar alignment to the left. I don't mind using center alignment, but for the folks who want left alignment... Wtf? This looks very broken, Microsoft.
  • Bug: On a related note, window previews sometimes show in the wrong place after you set the taskbar alignment to left, then back to center.
  • Suggestion: Most annoying of all is the fact that I can't tell how many windows of a program are open. I could do this fine before when I set the view to show more than just program icons. But now that's the only setting. At least multiple dots under the icon to show the number of windows would slightly help...
  • Suggestion: Also having start menu folders would be nice, and I'd like to be able to move my taskbar to the sides or top of the screen, like before.

To add on to this, I also now get this popup every time Windows boots.

And here's the double-height taskbar I mentioned.
