Windows 11 snipping tool is not working when selecting Win+Shift+S. Even on clicking the Snipping tool, the whole UI fails, and need to sign out from the task bar.

Same issue. Uninstalled then reinstalled the app. Freezes Windows completely except for task manager.

I wonder if this has to do with drivers.
I have the same issue, only works after a reboot, and then once - the 2nd snipped freezes all up.
Launching the Task-Manager does nothing - I have to log off/in again.

My solution for the moment is using ScreenHunter as that seems to work fine.

I'm also not sure what log-files to look into if this happens.

Running the Dell Precision 5530 with Intel graphics.
Did run Dell Command Update today in the morning, updated Firmware and drivers, but it didn't solved the issue.
This happened to me also. Updated from Windows 10 21h1 Enterprise edition. With my other laptop with clean install, everything is working fine.

Done uninstalling and resetting snipping tool with no avail. Also tried to copy former snipping tool from windows.old to system32 with snippingtool.exe.mui in en-Us folder.
Still no go.

I can open snipping tool and start capturing, but after snipping the whole windows freezes. It's like the snipping tool continues to freeze the screen.

@MrKolehmainen

Same here with Window 11 10.0.22000 Build 22000.

When using Win + Shift + S

Mouse clicks do not work anymore.

I'm using a Intel Iris Xe GPU on a THinkpad X1 Gen9

@jawzf   I am experiencing the same issues with my Win11 install with all the latest updates  Worked just fine in Windows 10.

I fixed the issue by resetting Windows while keeping files. I selected the option to download new install files. When I initially upgraded to Win 11, I used the Win 11 ISO instead of the upgrade assistant. Snipping tool works after a reset. If you also used the ISO to upgrade, reset your Windows install.

@jawzf facing same issue, re-installing also not helping. how can we report this issue to MS?
