I just purchased a new laptop, and about 24 hours later I thought everything was setup and ready to go. I inserted my thumb drive with the files I saved from my old computer. Using File Explorer I tried to drag the folder from the thumb drive to copy the files to My Documents folder. The copy option appeared, which I selected. THEN NOTHING HAPPENED! I tried it twice. I then tried selecting the folder on the thumb drive and used the copy and paste options. I was given the illusion that the copy and paste worked, BUT IT DIDN'T. The only thing that seemed to work was to drag and copy one file at a time.
I thought I had downloaded Windows 11 after hours of waiting, but apparently it failed. I spent 1/2 of today reloading Windows 11, my computer showed it still had Windows 10. I am trying to copy the files on my other PC again to check to see if there is a thumb drive problem, but the other PC recognizes the thumb drive.
