Fujitsu Scansnap will not operate correctly.

Yet another issue: Did download the latest software for Fujitsu Scansnap (S1500 in this case).  Open the scanner; works no problem.  Close the cover and re-open, the computer recognizes the USB device, but the software will not open again unless computer is restarted.
