Email Widgets are not updating

Hello. Few days ago I realized my Outlook and Gmail widgets are not updating. When I remove the widgets from my home screen and them back they are updated with latest emails, but they are not updating again. When I switch back to original Samsung launcher (I am using S8) everything is working fine. I already tried to reset permissions on all my apps, disabled/re-enabled google app, tried to update all apps, tried to clear cache of google app and ms launcher, reset the launcher into defaults and configure it again....nothing helped. Please advise. Thank you

Same here. Been going on for over 3 weeks now and has become a hindrance to my efficiency and very frustrating as well. MS, many people are reporting widget update problems through your in-app bug reporting tool. Please respond!

Same issue.  Samsung S8 - Android 9.

 

Outlook widgets do not update with new emails.  Although the unread number in the top bar appears to remain accurate.  Reverting to the default Samsung launcher and the widgets all work fine.

 

I've attempted factory resetting the phone.  Adding/removing the email accounts.  I've added every special admin permission to both outlook and launcher (disable battery optimization, allow app with data saver, etc).  But to no effect.  Restarting the launcher will trigger a one-time refresh.

MS. You got a big problem on your hands. Please issue a fix or risk losing the audience you worked so hard to build. A simple "Working on it, fix on the way" would be sufficient as we know these things take time.

One UI version 1.0

Android security patch level: 1 Dec 2019

 

Do not use many widgets personally but have experience Simple Calendar Widget is not updating/updates randomly compared to the same widget on stock home app. Have one or two other widgets which are also struggling, but my Chronos Clock + widget seems to be working fine.

In the launcher I am using my private MS account, in the phone is also added my company account.

I have the same problem. Because of this thread I found out the problem is in the combination "company portal" and "Microsoft Launcher" and Management via Azure portal. I only addes two policies to preconfigure two WiFi networks on my mobile Samsung S8.

 

Just deleted the device in Azure AD, removed the MSFT Company Portal and now the Outlook Calendar Widget updates itself again when adding or removing meetings.

 

This took me a couple of hours to figure out... Reinstalling all apps didn't do the trick, using the Native App Launcher on my mobile did work but did not solve the issue with Microsoft Launcher.

 

Other widgets showed same kind of problems i.e. Microsoft To Do and Evernote.

I use these widgets a lot so this is somewhat frustrating.

 

I used the latest versions of Outlook Mobile, Company Portal and Microsoft Launcher (9th of feb 2020).

I can confirm this post as well as others. I came to similar conclusions when working with 9Folders support (my email client) to diagnose the issue. Their log analysis indicated a problem with the security tokens or something similar while using widgets through MS Launcher in combination with Company Portal and/or MS Authenticator. I have 2 email accounts through 9 using widgets. One is not tied to Company portal or Authenticator yet is still affected by this issue. It would seem the existence of the app Company Portal is having a negative affect on Launcher widgets.

 

Has there been any acknowledgement of this issue and a possible fix?

@mikesiroisNo updates I heard from. Wonder how many users are using the Microsoft Launcher and who's device or Office apps are being managed by a company using Intune.

When trying to get rid te the Company Portal don't forget to first remove the Office application policies which are configured in the Office 365 Admin Center.

Microsoft Launcher has integration with Intune Company Portal, to provide our best enterprise offer on data protection from Microsoft. Unfortunately, there’s a known issue newly introduced in recent update from Company Portal, we’re actively working with partner team to look into this issue right now.

@mikesirois  Thanks for your feedback and thank your for using our launcher, for this issue need partner team fix from their side, the info we get is : 

Just confirmed with Company portal team, they start staging rollout to production on 2/18 EST timezone (UTC -5), and will rollout completely on their Thursday if there is no more biger changes needed.
 
Please pay more patience wait Company portal release fix to public.
