When I first started using Windows 11, GUI DNS Server Tools were working.  After sometime in August or September, something happened and the DNS RSAT Tool is no longer available.  It is not listed under Windows Tools and I cannot search for it.

It IS listed under my Installed Optional Features.  I have tried to remove it, reboot, install, reboot... still nothing...  Command line (dnscmd.exe) and the powershell extensions are fine.  Just the gui is missing...

Ideas?

Solution
Replying to my own post... Fixed the issue...
When attempting to run dnsmgmt.msc, I would receive a failed to create snap-in error (with no GUID).
Found that the dnsmgr.dll file was missing from the System32 folder. The dnsmgr.dll.mui file was in the system32/en-us folder as it should have been...

Searched for it, and found it in one of the package files on the system. In my case it was "Microsoft-Windows-DNS-Tools-FoD-Package~~amd64~~10.0.22471.1000" (in case that is relevant).
Copied the dnsmgr.dll file to the System32 folder and registered it with an Administrative Command Prompt (in my case Windows Terminal) using regsrv32...

It still does not appear in the Windows Tools, nor can I just hit Start and Type DNS...

I CAN, however, Bring up a Run box and type dnsmgmt.msc...

Now to get it listed in Tools again...

Ciao!
