Can't search via Start menu if search pictogram is not enabled

%3CLINGO-SUB%20id%3D%22lingo-sub-2819445%22%20slang%3D%22en-US%22%3ECan't%20search%20via%20Start%20menu%20if%20search%20pictogram%20is%20not%20enabled%3C%2FLINGO-SUB%3E%3CLINGO-BODY%20id%3D%22lingo-body-2819445%22%20slang%3D%22en-US%22%3E%3CP%3EAfter%20upgrading%20to%20windows%2011%20the%20search%20pictogram%20on%20the%20taskbar%20was%20not%20enabled%20by%20default%20for%20me%20and%20because%20of%20that%20I%20wasn't%20able%20to%20search%20via%20the%20windows%20start%20menu.%20When%20I%20typed%20a%20key%20or%20clicked%20the%20search%20on%20the%20start%20menu%20it%20would%20just%20close.%26nbsp%3B%3C%2FP%3E%3CP%3E%26nbsp%3B%3C%2FP%3E%3CP%3EThis%20is%20very%20annoying%20because%20I%20was%20trying%20to%20search%20the%20settings%20to%20enable%20the%20search%20pictogram%20but%20I%20couldn't%20because%20when%20I%20tried%20it%20would%20close%20the%20start%20menu.%20It%20took%20me%20a%20while%20to%20find%20the%20settings%20without%20being%20able%20to%20search%20for%20settings%20and%20enable%20it.%20After%20I%20enabled%20it%20I%20was%20able%20to%20search%20via%20the%20start%20menu%20and%20the%20search%20pictogram%20menu.%26nbsp%3B%3C%2FP%3E%3CP%3E%26nbsp%3B%3C%2FP%3E%3CP%3EYou%20should%20be%20able%20to%20search%20via%20the%20windows%20start%20menu%20if%20you%20don't%20enable%20the%20search%20because%20some%20users%20like%20me%20don't%20want%202%20pictograms%20when%20you%20can%20search%20via%20start%20(on%20Windows%2010)%20and%20search%20icon.%20It's%20a%20bit%20double%20for%20me.%26nbsp%3B%3C%2FP%3E%3C%2FLINGO-BODY%3E

After upgrading to windows 11 the search pictogram on the taskbar was not enabled by default for me and because of that I wasn't able to search via the windows start menu. When I typed a key or clicked the search on the start menu it would just close. 

 

This is very annoying because I was trying to search the settings to enable the search pictogram but I couldn't because when I tried it would close the start menu. It took me a while to find the settings without being able to search for settings and enable it. After I enabled it I was able to search via the start menu and the search pictogram menu. 

 

You should be able to search via the windows start menu if you don't enable the search because some users like me don't want 2 pictograms when you can search via start (on Windows 10) and search icon. It's a bit double for me.

@Jesse150  I'm having a similar issue with the search function closing the start menu. It functions correctly on my main screen, but not on my extended desktop's start menu

@tommyt127 Same! I wonder if there's going to be any fix for this; it is very inconvenient.
