Random outputs resulting from entering data into MS project file; primarily the Duration column

When I go to update any field (the duration field is causing the most issue) in any of my MS Project plans, the output does not return what I have entered. I get "wingding" font results or random durations that I did not enter. I then cannot update the line and the MS project file is unresponsive.

Okay here's a quick fix for you. Do not manually schedule your tasks. Unless you are creating a rough draft with target dates (long before any execution), all tasks should be auto-scheduled.

@John-project thank you, most of the tasks in my files are auto scheduled. The redacted file I attached is manually scheduled as I was trying to create from scratch. I've been using project for years and I've never seen this; manually scheduled or not.

ALL of your tasks should be auto-scheduled.

Why you are getting the dingbats I don't know. You might check Project options, Language group to insure there are no weird settings. Have you switched from the default Calibri font used by Project? I believe that can cause some problems.
