How to add a category field in a MSP task form?

Can I/we add a special Category Field to a task. We would like to use it as a filter in views. (We are trying out MSP to se if we can use it - and are completely newbees 🙂 )

The answer is "yes". It would help to know what version of Project you are using (i.e. one of the 365 plans, 1, 2 or 3, stand alone version, etc.).

Basically, Project has multiple extra Text, Cost, Number, Flag, and other fields that can be associated with any task, resource or assignment. You might want to take a look at this Wiki article:
