Can no longer Deactivate Projects

Copper Contributor

I can't deactivate projects. The last time this worked was a few months ago but just noticed it last week.

When I try, I get the following message:

Hours per day : Required fields must be filled in.
Hours per week : Required fields must be filled in.
Days per month : Required fields must be filled in.

This sounds like a calendar template issue and I suspect it may be related because we did create a custom calendar template to include weekends. However, the projects I am trying to deactivate are using the default calendar.

I cannot find where those fields are to satisfy the requirement.

Thanks in advance!

@Dave_the_Automator I'm assuming you are referring to Project for the Web.  I've seen this error before. Nothing in our environment has changed, and the error message intermittently appears.  It does not prevent us from doing anything.  Microsoft appears to be making unannounced changes on the backend with little to no testing.  Have you tried reassigning another calendar, save the project then reapplying the original?

Yes, I changed the default calendar template to the custom one and I was not able to deactivate with the same error.

@Dave_the_Automator You may need to open a ticket with Microsoft as your instance appears to be behaving differently. We saw the error briefly about 2 months ago and it occurred daily, but it didn't prevent us from doing anything, and we haven't seen it in the last month.  This is on a project that is 8 months old and we have never modified the assigned calendar.

Thanks, I will open a ticket with Microsoft.

@RodFromm I was able to workaround the issue by recreating the projects.

Not super ideal, but the affected projects are all based off of a template project so it wasn't too bad.

Thanks again!
