Assigning a 4 hours task

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I am trying to assign a 4hrs task from 1 Aug 2022 1:30pm to 1 Aug 2022 5:20pm

The problem is that when I autoschedule the task, the end date move to the next day 2 aug 2022 08:30hrs. Appreciate the experts here if you can advise how do I resolve such issue? I have already set the options to 12 hrs per day for 60hrs work week

Lionel79,
You say you want the 4 hour task to go from 1:30 PM to 5:20 PM but that's not 4 hours, it's 3 hours and 50 minutes. Maybe that was just a typo.

You didn't mention anything about what calendar you are using. Assuming the default Standard calendar which has working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1 hour lunch break), a 4 hour task starting at 1:30 will indeed not finish until 8:30 AM the next day.

I believe you need to create a new custom calendar that reflect working hours that support a 12 day. And for best practice, don't just modify the Standard calendar, make a new calendar based on the Standard.

Hope this helps.
