Adding a Project tab in Teams

Hi - So I was watching a tutorial on Project and it said to add a Project to a teams channel you just press the plus symbol to add a tab.  My teams channel does not have a plus symbol - am I missing something or is there another way to add a Project to a team?

The owner of the Team probably disabled the ability for members to add tabs:
