Power Platform licensing questions

Copper Contributor

Hi!

We have started quite big PowerApps project with one of our customers.

During an analysis phase we have faced couple of questions for which we can not find answers in licensing guide.

Questions:

  • is the multiplexing occuring when we integrate PowerApp with D365 Business Central - so if the data migrates both sides, do all PowerApps users needs to have BC license and opposite - all BC users need to have PowerApp license?
  • Can we or can we not create goal table in PowerApps? It is listed as a restricted for D365 Sales table.
  • Is the database capacity limit (10GB + 250mb per each user) cumulating on a tenant level? So i.e. 10 users means we have 10GB + 10*250mb = 12,5GB for whole tenant?
  • What are the PowerApps Premium users API requests limitations? Is it per app or per tenant?
  • What are the PowerApps non-interactive users API requests limitations? I.e. integration scenarios.
  • How many non-interactive/applications users is customer receiving in tenant?
  • Additional PowerApps API request addon - is it per app or per tenant?
  • What are the Power Automate entitlements for PowerApps Premium user? I.e. can it be used to generate PDF or use schedulers?
  • What are the OneDrive entitlements for PowerApps Premium user? i.e can it convert doc to pdf?

Thank you for the answers in advance!

Here are some of my insights. Hope it helps :)

  • is the multiplexing occuring when we integrate PowerApp with D365 Business Central - so if the data migrates both sides, do all PowerApps users needs to have BC license and opposite - all BC users need to have PowerApp license?
    • I believe so, yes. D365 BC does not reside natively on Dataverse, thus a D365 license is required for Power Apps users.
    • Look into Virtual Tables, might mitigate this (not 100% sure).
  • Can we or can we not create goal table in PowerApps? It is listed as a restricted for D365 Sales table.
    • Yes, technically you can. But the Power Apps users will require a D365 Sales license to access/write data on restricted tables. It's Multiplexing.
  • Is the database capacity limit (10GB + 250mb per each user) cumulating on a tenant level? So i.e. 10 users means we have 10GB + 10*250mb = 12,5GB for whole tenant?
    • Correct.
  • What are the PowerApps Premium users API requests limitations? Is it per app or per tenant?
    • Platform Requests are pooled on tenant level (all applications, also D365), per day, per users.
  • What are the PowerApps non-interactive users API requests limitations? I.e. integration scenarios.

  • How many non-interactive/applications users is customer receiving in tenant?
    • Not sure, don't have experiences with non-interactive users.
    • I don't see a maximum of non-interactive users.
  • Additional PowerApps API request addon - is it per app or per tenant?
  • What are the Power Automate entitlements for PowerApps Premium user? I.e. can it be used to generate PDF or use schedulers?

  • What are the OneDrive entitlements for PowerApps Premium user? i.e can it convert doc to pdf
    • Not sure what you mean with this question. What does OneDrive have to do with converting docx to pdf? Power Apps does not include OneDrive storage if that's your question.
    • There is a standard connector for OneDrive available though.
