What is the best way to sort tasks beside dragging them? It would be great to sort them by label, alphabetically or date order. I can't seem to find an automatic way.
Thanks

@Annette_VKC Microsoft HOW is this still not a feature? Such a basic thing that would save so much time. Still have a long way to go to come anywhere near the functionality of the likes of Trello.

To my knowledge there has been no response on this issue. It seems that Microsoft is less concerned about their users than either Slack or Ryver, who at least give the impression that their tech people are addressing problems. I will be discussing alternatives with our IT folks.

Agree, this is basic functionality that we need in order for Planner to be useful. I'm using Planner at work, because that's what we are allowed to use, but it really lacks functionality in comparison to Trello etc.

I was struggling with this too and found some helpful little tricks!
1. Sorting the board in Planner itself:
When you're on the board view, you can choose "group by" in the upper right corner. By choosing that, you can group all the tasks on your board immediately "by end date" or "by label" etc.
Doesn't work on the list view as far as I'm aware but it's still something!
2. Sorting the list view in Teams:
You can add a Planner to Teams or a Teams group* (more details below).
If you then open the Planner-tab from the Teams group, you can sort the list-view by simply clicking on Title, or Priority or Bucket etc. and it will sort by date or alphabetically.
*Tip: if you'd like to see all your tasks across teams/groups/plans, you can add the Planner app to Teams in general. By clicking on the three elipses on the left navigation bar. Next, you search for "planner" and add it. It will now show you a complete view of all your tasks as a sortable list-view.
(Preferrably right click on the icon then, to pin it to the sidebar, so you won't have to search for it all the time.)
