Next steps in CSP new commerce: Commercial legacy seat-based subscription migration and introduction

Microsoft

In fiscal year 2024, Microsoft is taking two important steps toward the retirement of the CSP legacy commerce platform. Beginning in November 2023, public sector (academic, government community cloud [GCC], not-for-profit [NFP]/charity) offers will be available in new commerce for new and renewing customers. Starting in January 2024, Microsoft will begin automatic migration of all renewing commercial and public sector customers to new commerce.

Hi,

Can you please confirm if its only Public Sector that is being delayed in the move to NCE and that Charity and Academic will still move to NCE in November? Below is from the September Partner Center Announcement.

Update on new commerce timeline for CSP Government Community Cloud, education and nonprofit legacy offers
In July, Microsoft announced that CSP legacy Public Sector offers for Government Community Cloud, education and nonprofit would be available in CSP new commerce in November 2023. However, we have received feedback from partners that making system changes at the end of the calendar year would be difficult. To avoid business disruption for partners, we'll launch Public Sector offers in new commerce and begin Microsoft-led migrations of Public Sector offers in calendar year 2024. We'll provide an update on the revised timeline for both launches soon.

Hi @WillBen and thank you for the question. Nonprofit and EDU will not move to NCE in November. The term PubSec is used to cover any non-commercial business offers. The readiness team will give clarity on the three different industries and the migrating offers in the future communication to avoid additional confusion.
