Microsoft Partner Center - Error After Payment

Copper Contributor

I am writing to bring to your attention a persistent issue I have been experiencing while attempting to register an app developer account in the Microsoft Partner Center. By following this complete guide provided by support team: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/xbox-apps/devkit-activation

I initiated the registration process on Tuesday, November 14th, and encountered no difficulties until I reached the payment section for the personal license. At this point, I added my credit card details (which I have successfully used for previous console purchases), but after a prolonged loading period, the page displayed an error message stating:

"Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later." CorrelationID: a5dc1f8f-631e-4c08-902c-1700622542bf Correlation Vector: MGJGKh0A2UyyjU0Q.0 App Server: Date: 18 Nov 2023 20:39:37 +00:00

Frustrated by this setback, I contacted Xbox support seeking assistance, but unfortunately, none of the representatives have been able to resolve the issue. As I am eager to acquire the developer license to utilize my Xbox Series S as a study tool for my career, this problem is hindering my progress. I kindly request your prompt attention and assistance in resolving this matter.

Your help is crucial for me to proceed with my development plans. I appreciate your understanding and am hopeful for a swift resolution to this issue. Thank you for your time and support.

@iPerry343 I got the same exact error and also contacted support. They told me to email email address removed for privacy reasons explaining the whole situation. Now we wait..

@iPerry343 have you seen these pages? Developer accounts in Partner Center - Windows apps | Microsoft Learn. You can also try submitting a Partner Center (microsoft.com) support ticket.

@JillArmourMicrosoft can you suggest another forum that might be a better fit to post this question to?

@Kim_Doucette I'll definitely send the ticket to support! Thank you so much!

*EDIT*:

I can not send the ticket because I don't actually have the access to "Workspaces" since I'm not able to pay the access for the Dev Mode Account on the Partner Center 😞

@iPerry343 Ok, I hope that @JillArmourMicrosoft can help redirect your issue.

@kevbev62 By any chance was your problem solved through that email? Unfortunately it was removed for privacy and I can not see it.
Sure thing! Thank you so much!

So I tried again around 11:30am EST and it worked, was using safari iPhone if it matters. My guess is their site somehow doesn't work beyond a certain point in the day. Hope that works for you
@iPerry343 I am looking into the correct place to move your post in hopes someone can chime in and help. It's a US holiday week so response times may be slower than usual.

@JillArmourMicrosoft Thank you so much! There is no problem with the time replies, I really just hope that it can be solved! Thanks a lot!

@JillArmourMicrosoft currently dealing with this problem any solutions ?

@DaquanRice same here! I can confirm my payment with my bank, going forward to “payment and register” gives an error code.

Dealing with the same issue. Tried on my phone, tried with Edge, Firefox, Chrome. Get the same error message each time.

"Something went wrong. Please contact support. (ReferenceId: 9abfe2fe-dfdd-4bda-0ca5-08dc309d0559)"

It's embarrassing to see how Microsoft can't even get a payment to go through on their own website and when people reach out for support, they're ignored completely.

@iPerry343

我也是遇到付款問題
顯示信用卡名稱格式不對
中文及英文名字都試過

I'm also having payment issues
The credit card name is displayed in the wrong format
Both Chinese and English names have been tried

@Kim_Doucette I am moving this post and all comments to our Partner-Led tech topics and questions discussion board. 🙂
