Legacy gold partners - using attained Solution Designations badge

Copper Contributor

Hi Team,

We are eligible for both Gold legacy and Solution Designation Partnership to renew our Partnership with Microsoft. I wanted to understand if we go-ahead renewing as legacy Gold Partner, will we be allowed to still use the attained solution partner designation badges - (not benefits of the Solution designation Program).

Please let us know, thank you

Hi @piyushme1992

Effective October 2022, competencies will no longer be valid. This means that badges will go away and competencies won't be promoted by Microsoft. Partners will retain their benefits.

September 30, 2022, was the last day to renew legacy competencies. Once Solutions Partner designations are available on October 3, you have the option to retain legacy benefits.

Sorry, but I am not quite clear with the response. Basically we plan to renew and Legacy Gold Partners, but have also achieved the Solution Designation Partner status. Can we use the badge for the achieved Solution Designation partner, after our renewal as gold partners?
Yes, to answer your question.

- renew your legacy silver/gold - you attain the benefits for IUR
- if you achieve the designation pre requisites it automatically transitions to the designation status
- in conclusion; yes you will get the designation badges + it will give you the rights to gain access to the CPOR benefits & fundings

Comment; silver & gold status do not give you any badges anymore, while designation will.

In addition to the reply from @FrankiePeters, you can find the current "Microsoft Commerce Incentives policy guide" in Partner Center.

If after reviewing the Incentive guide you have additional questions, please post a new reply in this Partner Benefits community, and I'm happy to assist.
