Recovery does not work for suddenly blocked hotmail account
Hi,
I try to help a friend who is suddenly locked out of his hotmail account.
The account was made very long ago, so unfortunately the recovery emailadres doesn't exists any more.
We did the complete recovery process (twice already) and were able to give exact emailadresses and email subjects like requested. Immediately after submitting we received this:
We have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership.
This cannot be reviewed by a person in zero seconds. And the automated system clearly fails! What extra info can we give?
Also:
We have taken the additional step of blocking your account until we can verify you as the account owner. This will prevent any further use of the account and protect you from any possible malicious activity.
So the blocked account is extra blocked?
How can we access the account again? The owner is not good with computers (that's why I help him) but he needs his account for important documents like his paychecks, contracts, tickets...
Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Hi Amathanio
I'm having the same issue. They noticed unusual activity on my email address removed for privacy reasons account on Thursday 8/1/24. I've tried getting a recovery code sent to all my other emails especially the one I have assigned for that. But I'm not receiving them on my two hotmail accounts. It's frustrating. I know I have so many super important emails and I'm not receiving anything and it's been 6 days now and I haven't received anything. I also tried answering the questions like what email addresses have I emailed in the last week, what are the subject lines and nothing. I'm at a loss and I'm so stressed out. Have you been able to resolve your issue? I will there was a live person I could talk to.

Hi,
Unfortunately, nothing works. The recovery system is fully automated and does not work at all.
I talked to a support agent as well, through email and phone, and they are even more useless. A lot of promises and sorry's but at the end, you just have to fill in the useless recovery page and end up nowhere. At a certain moment they just stop answering.
As this is not the first time Microsoft support is disappointing, I'm thinking of cancelling all my subscriptions and move over to Google. Never had support issues there.
This was not with my own account but I cannot risk this kind of support with my own accounts.
