Question about account deletion, for email accounts, that only forward

Copper Contributor

Hello,

There has been something on my mind, which I have been wanting to ask for a while now. According to

https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4511051/microsoft-account-activity-policy

An Outlook account, that isn't logged into in 2 years, will be deleted.

What I wanted to confirm was, does this apply to for example an Outlook account, that only forwards emails to another email?

Kind regards,

Vlacheslav

Hi @Vlacheslav95

Yes. Automatic rules processing is not considered activity, so you will need to either log in or action one of the exceptions to stop the account from closing after 2 years.

Hope this helps,

Mark

@HidMov thanks for confirming!

I assume by "action one of the exceptions", you're referring to the 'Purchases' requirement/exception?

Kind regards,

Vlacheslav

Hi @Vlacheslav95

Yes, that is correct. I probably could have worded that better!

Thanks,

Mark
