outlook wont open

This is an intermittent and ongoing issue.  I can sometimes get outlook to open, then it stops working, no messages will load.  when I close it, then try to open, it wont open and it does not give an erro...it just doesn't open.  I tried opening online, but it is not working either

Neither will mine. It's doing my head in! Sometimes I can double-click on the icon and it works, the next time it doesn't. Sometimes if I click on the hidden icons it works, next time it doesn't. This morning all I'm getting is the "Outlook is not responding" error and cannot open it. I want the old version back!
