Outlook Web keep on removing English as a spellcheck language (for use when writing emails)

Copper Contributor

I add English as a spellcheck language (using the Microsoft Editor Settings window), and I even move it to the top to make it the preferred language, but then at some point it gets removed and only Hebrew remains. I have to add English again, but then again it gets removed. This has happened at least a dozen times!

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem:

  1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause unexpected behavior in web applications like Outlook on the web. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, then restart the browser and see if the issue persists.
  2. Use a Different Browser: If the problem persists, try accessing Outlook on the web using a different web browser. Sometimes, the issue may be specific to a particular browser, and using an alternative browser can help determine if this is the case.
  3. Check Language Settings in Browser: Ensure that your browser's language settings are correctly configured to include English. Sometimes, if the browser language settings conflict with the language settings in Outlook on the web, it can cause issues with spellcheck languages.
  4. Disable Browser Extensions: Browser extensions or add-ons can sometimes interfere with the functionality of web applications. Try disabling any browser extensions related to language settings or spellcheck and see if that resolves the issue.
  5. Verify Office 365 Language Settings: Check your Office 365 language settings to ensure that English is selected as the default language. If it's not, update the language settings accordingly and see if that helps retain English as a spellcheck language in Outlook on the web.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with Outlook on the web repeatedly removing English as a spellcheck language. The text and the steps were created with the help of AI.
