Outlook search: Client vs Outlook on web

Iron Contributor

Dear all,

I'm sure this is something that everyone here has expereinced before but anyway I though I'd ask :)

When searching within a shared mailbox (inbox folder)  on the client (Outlook 2013) it does not give me all the results as I see on the web. e.g. I search for subject:(234123)

The shared mailbox has the cache disabled, also in the client search options the "Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown" is unchecked.

Is there a limit in the client on how many mails are displayed when searching? Since the mailbox cache is disabled I presume we are using the same exchange search so therefore see the same results?

Any ideas/advice.

Cheers

Should be server-side search, but it's not exactly the same as in OWA as the search scopes can be different. It depends on how exactly the mailbox is added in Outlook in addition to the cache settings as detailed here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/outlooking/2014/04/28/understanding-search-scopes-in-microsoft-o...
