The limitation to 5 to 9 for a shortcut to a Quick Step is ergonomically very strange : if it's quick steps, you do it to *save time* so it has to be as convenient as possible, so you'd select as close to 1 as possible to facilitate using only your left hand to type all the CTRL+SHIFT+number.
For reaching 5 to 9 you need to mobilize also the right hand which is not really facilitating *quick* usage...
I use CTRL+SHIFT+1-3 on almost every mail to sort out mail inflow, so over x100 times a day, so preventing to associate a one hand shortcut to Quick Steps is a show stopper for me at that stage.
