Hi there.
I hope someone can help.
We have a @hotmail.com email address. We are receiving many normal emails to it. However when we try and reply we are increasingly getting the below missing PTR record. And its making it almost impossible for us to be productive and are having to resort to sending emails from other email accounts. Whats can we do?
Sorry, your message cannot be delivered. The mailbox you are trying to send to is currently unavailable or disabled, or your email has been rejected for policy reasons
Your message was rejected by gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com for the following reason:
5.7.25 [213.120.69.116] The IP address sending this message does not have a
5.7.25 PTR record setup, or the corresponding forward DNS entry does not
5.7.25 point to the sending IP. As a policy, Gmail does not accept messages
5.7.25 from IPs with missing PTR records. Please visit
5.7.25 https://support.google.com/mail/answer/81126#ip-practices
We obviously can't add any PTR records anywhere, as we are using a hotmail email address and currently only accessing it through outlook.live.com (although have also tried sending through Apple Mac Mail which gives the same issue). And the above example actually is being sent to a @btinternet.com email address. I am not sure where gmail comes in to play at all. But either way, how can we circumvent this PTR issue. Otherwise I feel we will have to just stop using this email account altogether.
