Managing contacts

New to this outlook and trying to manage my managers contacts to verify/update info. Have received the automated email from Microsoft stating I have been designated as a delegate to do the following: 

You have been given the following permissions on my folders:

                Calendar:             Editor (can read, create, and modify items)

                Tasks:                   Editor (can read, create, and modify items)

                Inbox:                   None

                Contacts:             Editor (can read, create, and modify items)

                Notes:                  None

 

When I'm editing the contacts I keep getting errors messages stating: 

"your changes cannot be saved because you don't have permission to modify some or all of the items in this folder. Do you want to save a copy of this item in the default folder for the item".  If I hit "yet" then it says "You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object. See the folder contact or your system administrator". 

 

System Administrator does not know what is wrong. 

 

Anyone please help?!
