How Do I Determine Why A Rule Is In Error?

I click on Rule/Manage Rules & Alerts...

A popup box appears saying:

One or more rules contain errors.  Delete or modify these rules.

I click OK and all of my rules are displayed.

I scroll down and find a rule that is in error.  How do I determine what the error is?

I finally wrote an app to download all of the rules with the option to export them to an Excel file. One of the attributes of rules is if it is in error or disabled. I can look at the rule and determine why it is in error.
