I know this must be a basic question but, after reinstalling Office 365 in a fully rebuilt machine for work, I can't see any items in my "Sent Items" folder.
Could this be because Outlook takes some time to sync emails from the server? I can still see them on my mobile version of Outlook just not on the installed PC version.
Is there any further precaution to take? Obviously sent items are much needed to continue working so I need to recover them asap.

That's the most likely reason indeed, depending on the size of the profile it might take a while for Outlook to fetch them all. In the meantime, why don't you simply use the webmail/OWA version?
